This weeks MFT Idol Judge challenge was to make a card, altered item, anything really but using the colors pink and brown and with the theme..."Inspirational Woman". This was a tough challenge for me. What woman do I make this card for...what do I make...what MFT set do I use?
Then after a phone call from one of my close friends, I knew.
My friend lost her husband while he was deployed to Iraq by enemy fire. He was only 35 years old. He left behind 3 great kids. She not only lost her husband but her best friend that day.
When I talked to her, I asked her how she was doing? Was it a good day or a bad day? She said that she puts little post it notes around the house reminding her of the little things that she has to be thankful for...her children, the rain, the sunshine, the flowers by her front door, the smell of fresh baked bread...
I asked her how she had the strength to carry on and she said only through Him could she do it, there's no other way. To be able to have faith and to take each day as it comes, she is truely and inspiration to me!
So I'm going to send my post it notes her way with a little reminder that she is loved!

What a heartbreaking story! I can't even imagine the strength and courage she has to keep herself going especially with 3 little ones! She definitely is an inspiration. She's going to love your adorable flopsey card. And she'll be writing your name on one of the post it notes as something she's thankful for :0)

Oh my gosh, Becca. I feel so sad for your friend. I couldn't imagine being in her place. And what a great friend you are for thinking of her and creating something so special just for her. You are an inspiration as well!
