This was the card that I made for my brotherÂ’s birthday. The photo just doesnÂ’t do it justice. I think it could be that taking a photo of the card on my lap while we were driving to his dinner could be the reason! Um ya!
First I punched out nine squares out of glossy white paper. I used Alcohol Inks in three themes with the silver mixatives. I flicked a toothbrush with Blending Solution on each square to give more of a modeled texture-not sure if you can really see that. Next I stamped image stamps on each with Ancient Page ink in corresponding colours and then with Jet Black StazOn using the same stamps. I stippled the edges of each square with black ink in order to add some depth once they were put together (which do not sure up well in the photo). I used a ruler as a straight edge to tape the squares together with masking tape. I stamped the crosshatch BG stamp with VersaMark and embossed with detail clear EP to also unite the square together and to add more texture without adding anymore color. I then used a paper piercer to put holes for stitching using wire.
Thanks for looking!

I don't leave comments often (time restrictions) but in this case I have to. I don't know what you're on about with the photo quality- my photos are always much worse than this!! This card has convinced me to buy alcohol inks and I ahve been pondering for a while! I love it

Wow, gorgeous card here. I love alcohol inks. Thanks for the tip about flicking a tooth brush with the blender solution. Makes for a cool look. Love your card. Your photo on your lap in the car is pretty darn good if I say so myself! TFS :0)
