As I was reading the Scor-Pal product focus in this week's Inkling, I noticed a mention of a new product called a scor-bug. It said that it was a tool to run up the grooves in on the Scor-Pal to make a line of paper piercing. I immediately thought of a tool that was part of a Making Memories distressing kit I got at Tuesday Morning for next to nothing. There were several tools in it that I wanted but many I have never touched. This is a little spiked wheel on a handle and the instructions say to run it over your paper to get a distressed look. Well I'm not too much into the grungy look so I just ignored it.... until now! I dug it out and tried it with my scor-pal and am thrilled with the effect. I may have to retire my matt pack (probably not, but I'm sure it will get less use). All of the paper piercing on here took me probably a total of 60-90 seconds to do. If I didnt' already have a tool to do the job I'd be thinking strongly about the scor-bug.
Anyway, back to the card! It's blossom time here in North GA so that's where I got my inspiration from. My next door neighbor has a peach tree in bloom and it's so pretty right now. I inked the stamp with markers and the centers of all the flowers have been touched with some stickles, but you can't tell in the pic. (I'd love some suggestions as to how to photograph glitter..... I can never get it to show!).
Oh and the other frugal find was the ric-rack. I got a spool of 3 yards of it at Big Lots for a buck! Love it!!
Thanks for looking!

What a lovely card. My first thought was "Wow, she spent ages doing the holes" - and than I read "it took me 60-90 seconds" - I am deeply impressed!!! The colour combination is lovely and the layering is gorgeous. A wonderful work of art!

Gorgeous card. I love the colors. Our trees are blooming here too. They smell so good. That tool gives a great pattern. Love the rick rack across the bottom... Super job.

I have that tool OTBP and its similar to one for sewing, transfering called a 'tracing wheel', which is what I use because it works perfectly! TFS, lovely card.

Beautiful card! Thanks for the great info! Your card looks stitched rather than paper pierced! I must admit, I have this tool and never used it! I will have to dig it out! Thanks again! Mona
