Todays challenge was the featured stampers challenge and we were to make a card inspired by Stampfilled Dreams. She has so many lovely cards that I had it narrowed down to 6 cards and finally chose this one: Celebrate Summer Botanicals by Stampfilled Dreams at Splitcoaststampers
The rules are that you have to change at least 2 things about the card.
The changes I made were the stamp. This one is by the Stampers Barn in Ottawa, Ontario. I changed the border stitching for hand drawn stitches and used a straight stitch rather than a zig zag. I stamped the sentiment on the small accent rather than on the ribbon and changed the ribbon for something lacey rather than solid. I made by second ribbon 2-coloured rather than solid and elected not to make a bow out of it. I stamped a highlight image on the accent and added butterflies to that area as well as more baubles/dewdrops below the ribbon.
I kept the basic layout, colours and idea of stamping the flowers in layers the same. I coloured on my stamp and spritzed and then stamped one tulip and then stamped off beside and then repeated to go across the card.
I chose this tulip stamp for three reasons. Firstly because I am continuing my kamikazee stamping and it was the first thing I laid my hands on, secondly because my dear boyfriend's mother has beautiful pink tulips by her front walk that I love and these reminded me of those flowers which have the most beautiful smell ever, and thirdly because I have had this stamp for awhile and never used it and this seemed to be the perfect way for it to be used for the first time.
This was a terrific challenge. Thank you Stampfilled Dreams for being such a terrific inspiration. Hope you all like my interpretation of her card and thanks for looking.
