Almost thirty years ago my dad went to alcohol treatment. (Back then treatment centers were a lot different then they are today.) Anyway, one thing he insisted on taking with him was his guitar... he always did a lot of singing for us kids, at church, county fairs, etc. His first day in treatment his counselor asked him to sing a song for the group. The only song he could remember all the words to was Amazing Grace so he sang if for the group. Every day after that for the next twenty-eight days the group would ask him to sing it again. Needless to say, this song has a lot of meaning to my family... especially my dad. He still sings it quite often. :o)
So I made this for my parents for Christmas. The scrapbook paper in the background my mom pointed out to me one day when we were shopping (she doesn't know I went back and bought it the next day). I'm hoping I got the matting colors right? The stencil is from Uppercase Living. I think it turned out kinda nice.

This is so beautiful. I love the story you told about your father. The real story behind the song amazing grace is also very inspiring. I just went to an uppercase living party. I think I will order that and if you don't mind, do the same as what you have done. Thanks so much for the inspiration. Merry Christmas!! by the way, the colors are perfect.
