I got these letters for $1.99 each at Michaels in the unfinished wood projects area. I used Holiday Thyme DP & for Ribbon: Bravo Burgundy; non-SU green Velvet; Cranberry Crisp. I used my SU snowflake punch to matte the white plastic snowflakes that I used on the "J" and the "Y".
I followed the instructions on the link above - I turned the letters over (backwards) and trace them on DP and cut them out. I then put down a thin layer of Mod Podge and stuck the letters on. I made sure there were no bubbles....then I put a thin layer of Mod Podge on the top of the DP. After letting it dry a good 30+ minutes...I then sanded all the edges. I tied the ribbons and put on the snowflakes. Kept mine pretty simple since the DP is a bit busy.
TFL - this is my first time altering wooden letters and it was FUN!

Hi all...just wanted to reply to a few comments (although I did pm individuals that asked).....
I did not paint the edges of the letters - they come white
Regarding Mod Podge: Just wanted to let you know that you can make your own mod podge pretty easy. Mix Elmers glue (or whatever glue) with water. It's pretty close to a 2/3 glue to 1/3 water ratio. You don't want it too watery - but you want to be able to "paint" a thin layer of it - and it dries clear.
Also - you can buy mod podge at WalMart or Target as well as your Hobby Lobby, Michaels kind of stores.
