This little ol' Tom Turkey is a sneak peek for the Nov. 1st release of Eat More Ham at Clear Dollar Stamps. Isn't he just the cutest??
I did this card for the Clear Dollar Stamps challenge to use glossy cardstock. Now, I have to admit that I have had glossy cardstock for at least a year and hadn't even opened it! So, this was a great challenge for me. I tried out the Faux Linen technique using glossy cardstock. I really like the way it turned out - I did it on another card featuring a sneak peek!
I stamped the image on glossy cardstock, colored it with copics, sanded it down, sponged on some color and sanded it down again. I cut the image into a circle with my nesties, matted it with a chocolate chip circle, then mounted it on a wild wasabi scalloped oval matted with a pumpkin pie scalloped oval.
I stamped the background with the sentiment "Eat more ham" and different leaves. I followed the same directions as above, sponging with more mustard. I added a strip of more mustard stamped with the same background stamps and tied a ribbon onto it. I added ovals on wild wasabi matted with chocolate chip that read: "Thankful...to get away!". The whole thing is mounted on layers of chocolate chip, wild wasabi and pumpkin pie.
