When I saw the LSC today I thought I wouldn't be able to do it cos I didn't think I had any snowman stamps (I certainly hadn't bought any...). Then I remembered that I got a Christmas set as part of a stamping project club I belong to and... hooray! A snowman was there! So I bring you my first snowman card...!
This one was a LOT of work - I had an idea in my head and it took a lot longer that I had thought! The snow globe was part of the same set as the snowman and I originally thought of doing a shaker card... but then chickened out as I couldn't be bothered trying to figure out how to put it all together!
So the snowman is stamped once on blue and embossed with silver (that includes the snowflakes). Then stamped 3 times in Stazon onto pearl card and cut out in bits. The body parts were 'fluffed' by using a product called 'Snow Write' (I know... corny!). The effect is a puffy snow-type look. I also sprinkled crystal glitter over the snow when it was wet so it is really sparkly IRL. The hat, scarf, gloves etc were coloured with SU markers. The buttons are button brads.
The snow globe was stamped on white with Versafine and then I cut out the middle. I also stamped the bottom part onto two types of green and also red, then I paper pieced all the leaves & holly (I told you it took a while!!!).
The blue 'ribbon' was a random idea in the middle of putting the card together - I used some blue cord I had lying around and traced the line of the stamped image with glue, then CAREFULLY and SLOWLY stuck the cord down... Hmmmm... FAR too much work for one card! The little gems are actually there to cover some finger smudges (lol!) but I really like them now!
Sentiment is from HOTP and stamped in Chalk ink.
TFL!
