When I read Julia's challenge this morning, I thought "piece of vegetable"...for I had colored this 100 Proof Press image months ago...it was the first serious Copic practice I made. Now 2 hrs later, I am ready to upload...does that ever happen to you...what you envision is easy peasy...but the mechanics of it...never is
My cardbase is SU pumpkin (what else) pie. I stamped River City Rubber baskets along the top border in TH di spiced marmalade. The fruit and vegetable image was inked with Archival black onto GP white cs and colored with Copics. FUN, fun, fun it is to color with this $$$$ jewels! I have to admit I did not like to use colored pencils so getting into the Copics was bliss. I cut and popped various fruits/veggies for dimension. The black and white checked paper is an unknown. I used the nestabilities to make my sentiment mats. The favorite things is VersaColored in black and embossed in clear. I used Purple Onion Designs knife and fork unmounted stamp...using the VersaColor and embossed lightly in detail silver. It is also popped for depth.
Fresh fruits and vegetables are one of my favorite summer pleasures. My DH came in the other day with his shirttail full of blueberries off our bushes and my DF and I picked raspberries and blues again just last week...we love the time it affords us to visit and be productive. I'll send this to her...reminding her of a wonderful morning when the air was cool and to tell her she is 'nother of my favorite blessings! What about you...? My Blog

Well, this reminds me (as if I could forget) that you have the most awesome collection of stamps, Susan! These vegetables are fantastic and your coloring and layering is exceptional! I love the baskets stamped in the background and the place setting sentiment! Wonderfully creative card, as always!

Susan, I love your smorgasborg of veggies and you know why. Cause I LOVE veggies. You did a great job on this rather complicated piece. I really like the sentiment and the knife and fork as if to say "dig in". I love the basket bg and the gingham panel.
