This is a card for my brother's birthday. I started by stamping the mountains and trees and then added the deer silhouettes. Then I didn't know what I was going to do exactly. I wanted to make a Fall looking scene so I began with my Copics and sponging various colors on the bottom half of the scene. Then I thought, I'll make it a sunset card. I hope I achieved that. I am not someone who plans my cards. I just start and see where it takes me and this is the first time I attempted sunset colors. When I was done coloring the image I looked for a layout that would fit and it so happened that I had a great layout for this week's Featured Stamper Blondie090277 (Kim Teasdale).
It was inspired by her layout AI July Release - Plant Prints by blondie090277 at Splitcoaststampers and its warm colors and ribbon treatment but as you can see I changed it a lot by making a masculine card and using hemp cord instead of ribbon and I didn't add the horizontal layer. Kim has such a great gallery, I have many more of her cards I'd like to use as inspiration sometime!
