Hello everyone! This is my submission for Sketch Challenge 187, and boy was it a fun one!
I made my card 5 X7 because I wanted to be able to really highlight the beauty of this red semi opaque starburst paper and still have room for a future sentiment.
I stamped the image in Archival Black. I colored it with Prisma Pencils and Gamsol, my favorite watercolor technique by far! I cut the image out around the outside of the box and also inside the box because I wanted the lattice paper to show through the inside of the image. Used Fiskar finger blade to do this. I added a few yellow stickles to the centers but they don't show in the photo... sorry about that. I mounted the image on dimensionals to give depth.
For the butterfly, I first cut and embossed with my CB, then I turned over and debossed from the back, colored the body and spots, then used my Zig Emboss pen to outline him, dipped in gold ep and heat embossed. I added a few stickles which for some reason don't show in the photo.
I cut the bottom white lattice with my CB and die cut and cut it to fit. I wish I could get a photo that really shows the beautry of this red paper, but I can't seem to do so.
Thanks so much for looking! Have a Great Day!

You've created an amazing card...it is just so-o-o beautiful!! Hope you anchored that butterfly down 'cause he looks so real, he may just fly away! :-)
