WT627 ~ Handwriting - Yes, Your Own!! ~ {03/16/2017}
Today I am challenging you to use YOUR OWN handwriting on your cards. Interestingly, I noticed several people did on their cards for Carla's The Eyes Have It challenge last week, including me. I think the eyes had foresight!
There are some people here who do the most beautiful lettering and this is the perfect challenge for them. For those less comfortable (me again) with using their own writing as a feature on their cards, how about checking out Lydia's MIX186 challenge from last year, which made a feature of illegible writing. Check out the gallery from the challenge for some inspiring ideas! Options include writing with crayon for a resist technique, writing in a slightly darker colour to your background for a tone-on-tone effect, or simply using a loose scrawl as a fill for an object or as part of your background.
Whichever way you go - have fun!
Whether you've produced some beautiful calligraphic text or an illegible scrawl, come along and upload it to the gallery with WT627 as the keyword, and then come back and share a link here - that makes it easy for people to find your card. It's great for the hostesses too when you post on the thread ;-).
If you're not sure how to add a link, here's how:
1. Open 2 windows or tabs: one for your card in the gallery, and one for this thread
2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link.
3. Go to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on)
4. Click EDIT. Click COPY
5. Go back to this thread. Click PASTE.
Many thanks to Lisa, Carla and Cathy for some inspiring samples. Lisa went big and brave with hers, reminding me of how I did actually use a very, very early purchase of embossing markers for sentiments inside my cards at the time.
Super fun challenge Sabrina. I created my card remembering a really old fun thing we did as kids writing in secret code but used versamark to do it rather than lemon juice and a lighter. I think the versamark technique is much safer. Here is my card:

Yes!! I was thinking of those old invisible inks, but then we wouldn't have been able to see the writing, LOL. I think whatever we used, we just used the radiator for a heat source .

I remember using a lighter and now I am thinking how did we survive as kids and not burn down the house playing with fire.

Sabrina- awesome challenge, I love handwritten sentiments! I added a panel stamped with a vintage SU stamp- and added a fussy cut veggie panel, colored with pencils and enhanced with my blender pen. Added a button/twine combo- guess the rabbits are already munching on my veggie card Here's We're Rooting For You

Revisited the challenge, I have a newer stamp with these beautiful flowers- thought it went well with aqua and mint green hues. Added a bright purple ribbon border, and a baker's twine tie- along with my handwritten sentiment. Here's Thanks bunches!

Sabrina- revisited your awesome challenge, using it for the sentiment for my Loads of Love truck with corn in the back. Added a crazy quilt style background, and a simple twine tie. Here's Fresh Corn

went with a bright card, inspired by this wonderful red boat teabag creation- went with a ghostly ship with sea spray, some twine and metal fastener- and a handwritten sentiment! Here's Smooth Sailing

I knew exactly what I wanted to do for this challenge, could see it in my head! It lost something on the transfer to paper, I spent quite some time on the handwriting and still think I might have missed a trick but at least it's done. For now!
