May is self-discovery month, let's play Christopher Columbus and discover something for ourselves that may become a favorite friend. Today, I challenge you to try anything new - technique, color combo, medium, process for creating... anything new to you is fair game !
For my project, today, I went BIG! I've been eyeing those subway art things, and decided to dive in and create my own. LOVING IT!!! It went together in a snap, and I even found a fabulous deal on printing it on the canvas, so it is already hanging on my wall. Sorry about the dark photo, but I totally forgot to take a photo of it until early this morning. I was so excited to hang it!
Sabrina also has a sample for you today, where she used the Pencil Resist technique.
I cannot WAIT to see all the fun things to try in the WT426 Gallery ! Don't forget to include WT426 when uploading your project!
Let the adventure begin!

I'm trying to mix it up with Mix-Ability every Friday (little behind!)
Here's mine in the gallery : WT426 Pencil Bubbles .
Wow, Michelle - you rocked it with your subway art!
ETA, I like what you write about maybe discovering something that becomes a favourite. I'm always willing to give any new technique a couple of tries on that basis , and some that have become favourites have surprised me, in that I'd never have naturally gravitated to them.
Oh this was sooooo fun! Thanks for a great challenge! I embossed and die cut copper for a home decor piece. Here's mine

I couldn't believe it when this challenge called for something new and different to us. I did a card yesterday for another challenge and it fit the bill for this challenge as well. I used chalk, color pencils --- but my first? I used make up on her as well! It turned out great!

Thanks for the challenge! Thanks to your challenge, I finally did another challenge I was thinking about doing. I quit thinking and did it!
Here is my card.
Here's a second card for me. Love discovering new things. Thanks Michelle!

Had to try the pencil resist as I just bought stencils last night. Leopard Resist I'll be back to comment tonight-need to head to the store for graduation party supplies!
For my new techniques- kept it CAS for the most part- not my usual style- and went with bands of color. New color background for photograph, too
Sentiment/image came from SU's Around the Block, and marblized strip is from my stamping buddies. Here's Colorful Puzzle Card

I have been holding on to my bottle of Modge Podge for a few weeks. Thanks for this challenge, Michelle! I had something new to try for this challenge.
Tried the faux tile technique - and will definitely try it again! I NEED to try new thing more often!! Especially when there is a whole tutorial section with amazing instructions!
I tried many new-to-me things on this card WT426 Most Elaborate Card I've Ever Made by karjor - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers
1. I made my own template for a stair step card (cause I wanted it to be big - 12 x 12!). Some paper was destroyed in the making of this card!
2. Sponging around the edge of shapes for dimension - I alway think my cards look kind of flat, and this helped a lot. And I used foam tape to pop things.
3. Lots of brads - I haven't used them a lot.
4. Cutting only part way with a frame lit.
