Yes, it’s Thursday again which means that it’s the Ways To Use It Challenge. It’s Jayne here and I am your host for today…..whoohoo….let the fun begin!
Today it’s about borders. Currently where I live our border is closed and we are like an island on an island. It’s good for our State but not so good for people from other parts of Australia or the world wishing to come in.
This made me think about my challenge today and how we can add a border to our projects. It can either be one or multiple borders out on the edge, or perhaps you’d prefer to add a border/s in the middle of your card and keep your images “closed”.
Think partial borders…..open the border and only have part of it on your card. I’m sure there are lots of people who would love to see all borders opened and life back to normal.
So get out your punches, stamps, stencils, dies, washi tape and border your project. Be creative and use an item from your stash that you wouldn’t normally use for a border.
If none of these take your fancy, how about stitching, painting, drawing, doodling or doing some zentangle to create your border. Just do what motivates you to create and gets the mojo flowing. Most importantly have fun!
Here is a tutorial that may give you some inspiration.
When uploading your project, remember to use the keyword WT864 so we can see your creation in the gallery. It also helps if you link your project on the Ways to Use It thread too.
Our team has lots of inspiration for you each Thursday so make sure you check out the challenges on this day.
If you're not sure how to add a link, here's how:
1. Open 2 windows or tabs: one for your card in the gallery, and one for this thread
2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link.
3. Go to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on)
4. Click EDIT. Click COPY
5. Go back to this thread. Click PASTE.
A big thank you to Sabrina, Lisa, and Cathy for their beautiful creations and take on my challenge today.
I hope that you join us today and have fun. Happy Thursday.

Jayne, I love your write-up. I hope your physical borders open up again soon and safely.
Unfortunately SCS seems to have put up a border crossing I can't get through, and I currently can't upload. I'll try again tomorrow, wasted too much time today already trying various browsers and clearing cache and cookies till I'm fed up with logging in again.
Thank you Sabrina and so sorry that you are having problems. It kept throwing me out when I was trying to add samples and also won’t allow me to change the link to the gallery name. It’s frustrating. Have a wonderful day and thank you for your sample.

Jayne - thanks for a great challenge and the kick to get some cards completed. Despite packing for a week away I found time this evening to get these done - thank you
Terrific idea and write-up, Jayne. Thank you!
This idea could be a whole challenge category with different "techniques" each week.
The inspiration sure saved me last night!
I am playing my "Challenge Catch-up" cardmaking and catching up on my SCS postings.
Challenged to: add a border to your card...on the edge, in the middle to keep your image "closed," border only part, etc. The border could be stitching, painting, drawing, doodling, zentangling, etc. Mine is a "closed" image border.
