WT690 ~ It's All In the (White) Detail ~ {05/31/2018}
It's Sabrina here as your hostess for this last day of May.
Here, the hawthorn (crataegus monogyna) is also known as the May tree, and it fills the hedgerows with a beautiful sea of white foam in the late Spring, and rich red berries as a feast for the birds in the autumn.
We're going to add white details to our cards today - gel pens if you have them, but you can also spatter white paint or use the tip of an embossing stylus to add small dots of white paint - and chunky white embossing powder looks great too. Any of these will look super on your card and in our gallery this week.
Here are a couple of techniques which are good ways of bringing some white detail to your cards: the bandana technique was originally a TLC back in 2009 and has become a classic go-to technique for me.
Once you've created your card and added that white detail, upload it with the keyword WT690, and then come back and share a link here - that makes it easy for people to find your card and the hostesses really appreciate it.
If you're not sure how to add a link, here's how: 1. Open 2 windows or tabs: one for your card in the gallery, and one for this thread 2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link. 3. Go to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on) 4. Click EDIT. Click COPY 5. Go back to this thread. Click PASTE.
Many thanks to my wonderful teammates for their great samples, Lisa, Cathy, and Carla.
Happy to share my card for today's WT690 Challenge - It's all in the (White) detail.
Away We Go!
Thank you Sabrina for hosting the challenge and sharing links to three great techniques! And thank you to all the ladies who made samples for the challenge - lovely, lovely cards!
I love white detailing ;) This was perfect for today...I used some photos on my ATCs so it tied in with Carla's challenge from last week. Here they are....kind of quick and easy but fun!
This one is made for my third cousin , Sidney. Such a sweetie pie she is! The white is hard to see, but they are in the eyes and a couple in the flowers.

How beautiful, Sabrina. Ireland is one of my top favorites future trips list, I've always wanted to go there. My maternal and paternal ancestors are from there, mostly.

I have two sympathy cards to submit for this challenge. They are the same card design, but in different colors.
I incorporated white as my cardbase and textured embossed layering. I stamped the flourish on the oval vellum "window" with Versamark ink and heat set it with white embossing powder to create the patterned "window." I also added white ribbon as an anchor for my sentiment.
