Challenge: Luna Moth
Hi! It's Watercolor Wednesday and this week I am challenging us to paint a Luna Moth! I love the holidays but I also love creating things for the opposite season! Maybe there is just a tiny bit of a rebel buried inside me and it likes to show up this way. I hope you enjoy painting a Luna Moth! Remember that it's always ok to start off with a stamped image like I did this week!
Please note: The artist uses a masking fluid but if you don't have any you really can do this project without it. I didn't use masking fluid on my moth.
Uploading: Remember the keyword is without spaces. Use a comma between keywords with a space after each comma.
If you are new to the challenges, please feel free to do this one or ANY of the challenges at any time. There is no time limit. They are not races to see who can do one first, nor are they contests of any sort. All the challenges are simply to provide inspiration and to get us stamping!

I haven't watched yet due to a crazy morning but I did google Luna Moth - massive! 4 to 7 inch wing span and a white hairy body - not near me I hope!!!

Angie, just wanted to say what a delightful video this is and how much I enjoyed watching (and listening!) to it. Water coloring, I am no good at, but I loved the video!

Interesting challenge, Angie, and one that made me work a WHOLE lot harder than the video artist - LOL - I don't know if we have these kind of moths in our area (I've never seen one) BUT They are quite majestic! Here's my try at this:
If you enjoyed painting the luna moth, you may also enjoy reading the book, Girl of the Limberlost, by Gene Stratton Porter. Luna moths are somewhat of a rarity here in Indiana, but every June we are honored to spot one. In real life, Gene Stratton Porter designed a dress fashioned after the moth. I just love spotting them and think many of you would enjoy this book as well.
