I am READY for VSBN Kick Off of Friday Night Football!! Woohoo!! I have to admit, I'm a "fair weather fan" so I will NOT be attending tonight's local HS game to watch my son in the band...it's pouring rain here! Guess that leaves time to SCRAP!!

I have a problem with my car...the ignition key has been stuck since yesterday!!!
Going to my friends tonight so her hubby can figure it out and fix for me...tomorrow is a workshop...Sunday I have defensive driving - darn cops trying to fund the new police station! :rolleyes:
I guess I will have to peek in when possible, but I know I won't be able to play. :(

Our hostess will post the challenge at 8pm Eastern time and then you will know the directions
btw--I am headed to help df so will be back, but probably not until 7-8 pacific time--I will check in and try to actually do something!!!

Valerie...thanks for the directions. The great thing about Friday Night Scraps is that we're not putting a time limit on it. You'll have until the next week to complete it. So if you aren't here tonight you can always join in throughout the week.

I "might" be in! lol I havent done anything like this before; but had a date that got cancelled because of numerous reasons; sooooooooo if you can explain any more to me would be appreciated.
I popped in to check things out. I leave work at the time this will be posted, so I'll have to check it out when I get home after gettting a perm. Not much time to scrap this weekend until maybe later on Sunday--I have my granddaughters tomorrow and overnight. Promised my son a page of him with my 6-year-old DGD since I just gave him one of him with my 2 1/2 yr. old DGD at the golf course and that's not playing fair! So, maybe this challenge can tie in with the page I need to make!(???) We'll see. Anyway, for those of you who can get started right away--have fun!!
I just saw on the SCS home page about Friday Night Scraps!!! I just love VSBN weekends so I know this would be fun too. Usually Friday is Family Fun Night here but I was just thinking earlier that Saturdays would be better for us now with school in session and DH working longer hours. Now that I've seen Friday Night Scraps, I KNOW Saturday is a better day for Family Fun Night LOL! I'll have to play next week, but I am SOOOOO excited for these!!!

This thread (it's old) explains what VSBN is and how it works. Friday Night challenges are just to get you motivated for the big VSBN weekend of October 17, 18, 19.. It's a fun time. the challenges could be a certain technique, a sketch you need to use, etc..
Each Friday night between now and VSBN (which is October 17-19) we will be having one challenge every Friday night. Each of these challenges will be hosted by a SCSer who has volunteered to hostess it. Since the theme of this VSBN is Football the hostesses will be your coaches.
The challenges are pretty broad in scope so you shouldn't have a problem doing them with just the materials that you have at home. The challenge will be posted at 8:00 Eastern (5:00 Pacific). You will have all week to complete the challenge. Once you've completed the challenge we encourage you to post your challenge to the SCS gallery with the keyword that we'll provide to you. All entries will be judged and we'll have 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
I hope that clears it up. This is basically a fun way to hang out with fellow SCSers and get some of that undone scrapping done!

WOW - didn't know about this until now. If I spend some quality time cleaning off my scrapping desk, I may just be able to play. I always find it difficult though to post my pages as I don't have any fancy dancy software to put the pages together. However..........will do my best.

it's my favorite chocolate cake, topped with french vanilla icecream,fresh strawberries, banana slices, and real whipped ceam. it's how i gained 30 lbs.

I hope to play tonight to de-stress! I have spent the past day and night at Children's Hospital with my my 2 year old son who ingested my seven year old son's ritalin yesterday morning! A two year old who has OD'd on amphetamine is soooooo not pretty, but we are back home tonight and all is well! I am so exhausted that I am beyond sleep, so why not scrap my stress away!
That sounds like fun! I have no football pictures but I have pictures of my girls as cheerleaders! Will that work?!

Oh man.. I have a date with my oldest son to watch "Are you smarter then a 5th grader" (since he's a 5th grader now he is loving this show even more!!) BUT I wil come and see if I can do a challenge between commerials! LOL

any pictures should work. the theme of vsbn is football. so the challenges might have a football name but it doesn't nessarially have to do with football. does that make sense???
