JUN08VSBNN HANDMADE
Keyword: JUN08VSBNN
The gallery:
HERE
I've never been on a cruise, but, I've heard about those fancy
animal shaped towels . Ok, so we're not going to make fancy animal towels, unless you want to, but instead we're going to work on creating handmade, one of a kind element(s) for your page.
Digital scrapbookers: You can play along, go to the end!
Here's one example, I reated the flower myself:
And if you want to do exactly what I did, you can follow
this tutorial . Super easy and the effect is quite stunning. For my example, I used about a foot of ribbon. My suggestion is to just find a scrap old ribbon, play with it and experiment with the length. Once you get a hang of it, it'll take 5 minutes!
Want something else? How about a cute owl? Check
this template out . Did you see the flower that she did? Or, the heart that I made:
Or, how about handmade felt flowers? Make your own template and cut, cut, cut. You can't go wrong!
Do some stitching if you desire. Learn how to do a blanket stitch on
YouTube and then create a
stitched owl.
My Sample
Not into felt or ribbons? Use your paper. You can either cut up some pretty pattern paper and create your elements like this:
Cut up sample
OR, like these circle paper elements (you can also arrange these circles to look like flowers):
Or like this house:
Endless possibilities!
The challenge is basically, create a page where you use your own, handmade element(s), to embellish it.
Digital scrapbookers... your challenge is to create a page where there's something in there that you created yourself. For some tutorials, check out my videos:

Great challenge--will take a little thinking time--I will do that while I put away groceries and tidy up in here a bit!

For the tent... even paper will do. You can try clip-arts too in your Word and print it out for a template or do a Google image.

Yes, the ribbon's awesome. I was messing around with it and you can do small ones, big ones, etc. I used fabric glue to glue the button on the center. So far so good. I just let it sit dry for a few minutes. You can use the flowers for cards too.

You might be able to use your scallop/corner rounder punch for the snow effect. Hmm...

I'm definitely leaning toward felt - trees, tent and maybe rocks - but ummm... I don't have any at the moment. Maybe I'll just sandpaper some cardstock or something... wheels are turning anyway!

Everything on that layout was from a 12x12 paper that I patiently cut out
Oh, here's the link to the paper:

My piece was inspired by this:
See the resemblance?
Speaking of inspirations... what inspires you?
I love colors and so colors inspire me.
Work by other scrappers inspire me.
The pictures I work with inspire me.

Things are good with me! I'm just chatting tonight. Hopefully I can get a page or two done. If not, I will get them done this week while the kids are at summer school.

Yep - very cool!
I love structure and so sketches are a point of creative entry for me. Mostly it's the subject matter though:mrgreen:
