Title: �St George and the Dragonet� (By Stan Freburg, 1953)

Time: 11:00 PM (EST)
This song is a very humorous spoof on the Dragnet radio/TV series from the early 1950�s. It was released September 21, 1953 as a 45 rpm single. The recording had to be restarted several times because the trombone players were laughing so hard at the jokes that they were unable to play their instruments. The recording was a #1 hit, selling over one million copies in the first three weeks. The second song on that video is �Little Blue Riding Hood.� You should listen to it too...just for fun!
So, here�s my challenge to you:
1. Based on the opening lines from the song, �The legend you are about to hear is true Only the needle should be changed to protect the record,� you need to include sewing. This can be machine or hand sewing. It can even be faux sewing or a rub-on. Just so it LOOKS like stitching.
2. We have a Maiden so she should be represented by bling.
3. There are guns, a sword and a knight in the song, so you need to include metal on your LO to represent them.
4. And last, but definitely not least�We need to represent the dragon! Here�s the description of him from the song:
[Knave:] Well, he was, you know, he had orange polka dots...
[St. George:] Yes, Sir
[Knave:] Purple feet, breathing fire and smoke...
[St. George:] Mmm-hmm
[Knave:] And one big bloodshot eye
right in the middle of his forehead and
Uh, like that
[St. George:] Notice anything unusual about him
[Knave:] No, he's just your run-of-the-mill dragon, you know
So to represent the dragon, you need to use orange or purple in your LO AND have polka dots somewhere AND use one large picture in the middle of the page. This can also be a picture �block� or collage if you want to use more than one picture. Just so it represents the dragon�s one big bloodshot eye right in the middle of his forehead!
Here�s the summary:
1. Sewing
2. bling
3. metal
4. orange or purple
5. polka dots
6. one large picture or photo collage.
Bonus points for journaling! As St. George says, �Just for the record We just want to get the facts, Sir.�

A second sample here for you vintage scrappers. It is one I did a long time ago, but fits the criteria except for the stitching. After the Storm

Oh my!! This challenge is so clever!! I'm not sure my brain is awake enough for it!!!
There are a lot of details, but it's all fun! I really had fun doing the LO! But you do have a week to finish, so you can go get some sleep if you need to!

I've notice too that it's been quiet here! What's with that? These are so much fun! I haven't been on to much since my dd came over with her 3 little ones to "scrap"...well she got 3 LO's done...me zilch!

so far I did all of todays....just have to pick up picts for VSBNi but the layout is done. :mrgreen: Last night I was too sick to scrap so I'm behind on yesterday's though.

I've been keeping pretty quiet as I've been scrapping away this evening. I don't think I'll have a lot of time tomorrow to do so. I put in 53 hours at work this week in order to get things done so I can start working on payroll issues. I'm sure by payday this week, the guys are going to be asking when they are getting their W2s and since I haven't even started doing the quarter end tax reports/payments, I need to get moving! DGS has off school for MLK day Monday so I'm hoping I can stay at work longer since DH is watching him for the day and I won't have to leave by 3:20 to come home and meet his bus! Have a good rest of your evening ladies...It's after midnight here and I'm bushed!

I have so many pics, it would be IMPOSSIBLE to get them all out! This time I tried to concentrate on the pic of my dd and ds, but even that is overwhelming! I have their whole life time to scrap! One is 29 and the other 26! Then they keep having kids and I have their pics to scrap! Then there's all the vintage! I'll never get done!

I got my W2's out last week!!! But then I only have 3 to do!!! I do them online so it is so easy I feel like I'm cheating!
I wish I only had that many to do. I've got close to 30 and one of them had sick pay for 1/2 the year so I need to review how to do that again since the accountant tells me I need to do a separate one for him. I'll have to check out doing it online. That would certainly beat typing them by hand on the 4 part form and reduce the time probably by at least 2 hours!
There was supposed to be "snow" on this layout but I just noticed it seems to have "melted?" I'll have to check it out tomorrow. It's not on my jpeg either so I'll have to bring up PSE and see if it's on that one. Maybe something got pushed to the back by accident!
Definitely heading off this time before DH comes down to see if I fell asleep! LOL! Night!
