Hi, I'm Tobi and I was so happy to be asked to hostess this event! It was a personal goal of mine to scrap more (versus card-make) in 2009, so with this little insentive, I'm well on my way! I really hope you enjoy this challenge. Sketch challenges are my favourite, and I can't wait to see all of your versions!
I personally struggle with finding unique and interesting ways to feature family members that aren't in my immediate family (and by that i mean, me, my son, my dog, and my fiance). I looked through all my pics and realized that I have a lot of shots of family members with my son, or with me, and I should try to do layouts that feature their/our relationship. SO...........
It's a double challenge, and the first part of the challenge is to use the given sketch/my layout as a guide. (I cased a layout by Savitri.. check her out)
And the second part of your challenge is to incorporate a picture/pictures of family members that are *edited one or more generations apart and comment on their similarities.
I know for the second part it might be easy to fall back on a mother/daughter relationship or father/son etc, but really try to go beyond the immediate family, and scrap about those other people. lol
RULES: You have two hours to complete this challenge. (That's two hours start to finish not two hours from time posted.) When finished please upload your layout to the gallery and include the keyword JAN09VSBNM so everyone can search your creations with a simple click!! then link your creation to this thread! You must do both upload and link to this thread! Layouts must be completed and uploaded AND linked by Sunday February 8th!
Wow. I thought of my grandmother and daughter as I was reading this challenge. I always thought that my daughter's newborn picture looked just like my grandmother. I'm just not exactly sure if I can find both of those pics. I know where my dd's is but not my gm. These are the only 2 I know of that were similar and only then at her birth! If I find them I'll probably do an 8x11.5 since both pics are small. Cool challenge...thanks.
I knew that the pix that I wanted to take of my grandmother and I last week would be necessary, but we never did take that photo.... guess we will have to!!
I might have to do this challenge twice; I have the best pic of Ani and her Oma but I also have pics of Raif and of his Opa at the same age and they're the spitting image of each other.
I might have to take a break from chatting to get some work done, I'm losing my focus : but I'll check back with y'all after some coffee, advil and a heat pack  Have fun!

I'm getting there- the journaling is the difficult part- it is about my DH dad, they are not very close but the arrival of our own children has put a different light on things. FIL is much better w/ grandkids than he was with his own.
One would think that I should compete one layout before beginning on another. I have created most all of the challenges... well sort of, they aren't attached to the paper lol I pick out the background paper for this one and again my table is full of the last challenge lol
