Default FEB11VSBNE ~ Saturday, February 5, 2011 ~ 4:00 PM EST ~ In The Groove!

Title: "In The Groove!"
Hostess: Vikki vikkijo
Keyword: FEB11VSBNE

Day/Date:
Saturday, February 5, 2011
Time:
4:00 PM (EST)

groove
noun
1. Slang A settled routine: got into the groove of a monochromatic scheme.
2. Slang A situation or an activity that one enjoys or to which one is especially well suited: found her groove following a scrapping sketch.
3. Slang A very pleasurable experience.

Scrap booking is my passion, my biggest pleasure. Most of what I work on is for the Daughters of the Union Veterans of The Civil War, so I do not have much to show off I really enjoy scrapping about my kids and my critters.

Sometimes I need pictures sitting in front of me then go find a sketch to follow depending on how many I have, and other times its the other way around.

I have really gotten in the groove of Monochromatic Color Schemes too!
Heres a website I found to be a great place for colors. (you can chose other schemes there too!)
http://websitetips.com/colortools/sitepro/

Here's my challenge to you,
Using the provided sketch, and whatever you have on hand (use your stash).
You will need 2 sheets of card stock for your base layer, then scraps can do the rest!
If monochromatic works for you .. YAY! If not, no worries, follow whatever color scheme

VIEW THE GALLERY FOR THIS CHALLENGE HERE

UPLOADING INSTRUCTIONS:

1. To be considered for VSBN Prizes, ALL VSBN CREATIONS MUST BE UPLOADED BY 10:00 PM EST ON SUNDAY, either February 6 for the mini or February 13 for the main(Please put the correct date for your challenge.)

2. You have 2 hours to complete the challenge. Please be sure to write your description of how you interpreted his/her challenge in your Upload Description.

3. Please remember to put in the correct KEYWORD FEB11VSBNEwhen uploading your image; a wrong keyword means your submission may not be seen for consideration. Copying and pasting the challenge keyword is recommended to avoid typos.

I think she was just starting, she said she'd be back for the 6:00 challenge. Kinda wondering if everyone's finishing their other challenges or having a coffee break! LOL

I am going to jump in and get the ones I missed later! I have a question. It says using the" provided sketch." One that we find? Or did you provide a sketch?

Thanks
Sharon

Idk if this has been answered already - but the sketch is one of the attached thumbnails (it is kind of hard to see next to her sample). Hope this helps!

Thank you! I didn't notice that! Does that mean for this one we do a 2 page LO?
I am full of questions, aren't I? Oops, another one!

LOL! She's still prepping the food :-) Luckily I sold Pampered Chef for years so we have a food chopper, lots of chopping so I'm finishing up a l/o in between ingredients. I had to do the Mango...now off to help her put it all together...she's having a blast! :-)

I'm here, and working at this. I am off timing because I got a late start with the first one and used two hours to finish it.
Not to mention the darn family keeps needing things LOL!
I imagine at some point they will want to eat too (sigh).

I don't think she would be opposed to you using either side if you are a 1 page scrapper

I actually messed up my food chopper - I forgot to put on the blade shield for the first couple of uses and it gouged out some plastic on the sides of the outer rim thingie  I need to order a replacement! I am such a dummy!

Ouch! I have 3. I was a Director for 8 years so my kitchen is full! I haven't sold in five years so it's starting to age but I still do enjoy most of what they sell :-) I use to have consultants in England but I doubt if they are there anymore but you should be able to order from anyone if you know someone that sells. Okay, just got called back to the kitchen :-)

probably because I couldn't even open...you're right. I know just the picts I want to get out and scrap for this. From Christmas. :o I very, very rarely scrap without a sketch Liz, I'm with you. It would take me SO much longer to fiddle around w/ the picts trying to decide. I like the sketch gets me started!

That's what I've been doing lately! It's SO much easier just to cut all of them at once. Plus I moved my Cricut to my new shelves and now that's it's in an easier spot, I tend to use it more ;)

Great sketch and challenge. Can't wait to go through all the challenges and play (shhh don't tell, just finished up a sample for my challenge, the timing goes well with my challenge too - you'll see!)
Can you believe I almost forgot??? I did remember though after it was all ready to put together. It was a wonderful first attempt at cooking...edible & okay tasting :-) She was funny...she enjoyed it but was glad her sister hadn't emptied the dishwasher yet so she can take a break before cleaning...'this is a lot of work mom!' ;-)

Thanks to the great sketch Vikki, my page is laid out and ready to be adhered down. I'll add embellishments tonight and pop back here to upload after the next one!

I'm here! Got a late start and just finished the first challenge. I'll have to post it later though, so I can get going on another challenge. This looks interesting -- I haven't checked out the sketch yet. Off to do that now!

We just got home as well. I do like your sketch. I've drawn it out so I can go look for pics to fit. Off to check out the next challenge too.

Wow! Just checked out that color tool. Thanks! I bookmarked that one...it gives you the numbers that can be inputted right into Photoshop. It's pretty awesome!
