Hello scrappers, traditional and digital or hybrid, Art journalists, Bible Art Journalists Junk Journalists; all are welcome. This is not however for cards or ATCs or tags. This is our Summer Virtual Scrapbooking Night. Feel free to jump in and do our challenges for the next three months! Just use our keyword VSBN23Summer (copy and paste), and then come back and link your page here so we can see it. (to do that, just go into your photo description, copy url, and come back here and paste the url in your post.). That will take us right to your project! Also if you use our Scrapbook chatter monthly keywrds for whatever month you complete your layout, it will be in our monthly gallery. SBC23JUL if you finish in July; SBC23Aug if you finish in August and SBC23SEP is you finish in September.
In each of the next posts I will post a challenge. I am trying to make this easy-peasy; so the keyword VSBN23SUMMER will be the same for all the challenges. I will also make some extra posts for some challenges to be added later; so be sure and check back for those.
You cannot combine VSBN challenges, but you can combine with other SCS challenges. There are no scrapbook police, so please just be inspired by the challenges any way you can. Be sure and leave love in the gallery for the others as they post their projects. Have fun!

There will be some layouts there soon. Who will be first?
It is party time! Let the party begin! Chat, scrap and post!
Our first summer party is a pool party! Let's get out there and play in / with the water! Your challenge is to use water somehow to make your layout. Watercolor, spatters of water, water embellishments, stamped images of water, photos of waters, papers with water on them. Play in the water! Have fun at this pool party! I can't wait to see what you do!
I love this kind of party! What toppings do you want on your ice cream sundaes? How many toppings do you want? 1 cherry? three syrups (chocolate, caramel, marshmellow)? 5 nuts? (LOL)
For this challenge, you get to choose between 1-3-5-7 or 2-4-6-8 of items to put on your layout. Examples: 1 word title, 3 photos, 5 printed papers 7 gems whatever you come up with. 2 photos, 4 enamel dots, 6 flowers, 8 hearts for example.
I can't wait to see what kinds of items you put on your sundaes.
When I was a kid we went to the drive-in during the summer and saw double features. It was a cool thing to do on hot evenings. We would go early and play on the swings, and equipment in front of the screen and then run back to the car when the movie started. In between the movies, we might go up there again and also go to the concession stand. It was so fun!
Your challenge is easy-peasy, you must double mat your photos for this double feature. I love the look of double matted photos. I can't wait to see all your lovely layouts.
We used to really go on lots of picnics and reunions in the Summer. Another easy-peasy challenge. Your layout must have food items on it, whether in the photos or embellishments or papers. I can't wait to see what you eat at your picnic party!
What do you see at the beach bonfire? I visualize fireflies, sparks, stars, sand, bare feet, shells, bugs, maybe some hotdogs, and toasted marshmallows. What do you see at your bonfire? Choose 5 to put on your layout:
Gems (pearls, rhinestones, etc.) Butterflies bugs, banners (sometimes those planes over pulling advertizing banners)
stars
hearts
recycled item lace, (we usually see people in bathing suits at the bonfire)
ribbon
At least 5 of the above must be on your layout for this challenge.
I look forward to seeing what you use!
Playing volleyball on the beach, playing corn husk or how about weightlifting? Scraplifting, really!
We had such a great May gallery; our challenge is to look at it and choose one to lift. There are plenty to choose from, 74, I think. Go pick out one, and be inspired.
Challenge: Be inspired by a Garden Party! I picture lanterns strung across the patio, or garden. I picture lovely green plants and beautiful flowers, and maybe a few flying insects. Maybe a gazebo…A beautifully laid out table with beautiful dishes. Let’s see where your imagination goes!
For #3, Ice Cream Sundae Bar Party, I chose the 1-3-5-7 option: 1 bear & 1 journaling box + 3 twine bows & 3 gifts + 5 chipboard pieces + 7 photos & 7 lines of journaling. I scrapbooked Christmas photos, so I love the flexibility of this and the other VSBN challenges!

We actually have a Drive In Theater not too far from our house.! Last summer I took my niece and nephew to the show. I'm especially going to have to find those photos for this challenge

The right page of this 2 page layout is for "Summer Picnic Party. It includes a photo of a cake my DGS made for a picnic we had. He found a recipe then put his own spin on it. It was good but pretty sweet. Technically Sept 23 was the first day of fall but we did have a picnic...LOL! I'm half way through the challenges & a month left to finish them!
