TLC645 ~ Everything Old Is New Again: Shaving Cream ~ {7/3/17}
Hello friends! It's the first of the month, and that means it's time to revisit one of our older techniques. Maybe it's brand new to you, maybe you've done it a lot of times, or maybe it's been awhile! In any case, today we are looking back at SHAVING CREAM techniques!
and I know there are some new shaving cream techniques floating around on the internet as well. Let us know about your technique in your description and show us what you've got!
I Love shaving cream backgrounds - they are so unique and even if you do 2 or 3 lifts from a single tray each one is totally different - Here's my card:

Judy, I am so glad you brought this technique back. After having limited success with shaving gel, I broke down and bought the cream and it works beautifully. I made 8 panels and love them all, but who thought that after they were dry, they would make me sneeze and sneeze and sneeze when I worked with them. I may have taken this "try a new technique" challenge title a little too literally - LOL!
I kept playing with using re-inker dyed shaving cream in embossing folders and, after a few false starts, I think I finally have a decent handle on it.
I uploaded a couple of new cards and in the descriptions there is a link to a post on my blog where I have more pictures (sorry they're not better - I'm better at stamping than photography) and a step by step description of the shaving cream embossing technique. It's a little bit messy, but it's only shaving cream and reinkers, which wipe and/or wash off embossing folders and big shot plates easily.
Sorry for all the posts, but in addition to playing for this challenge it also reminded me of the last time I broke out my shaving cream in the stamp room, which was 2009! O.O Back then I was still an SU demo and did a class for my customers on the shaving cream background technique.
I realize it would be cheating to upload these to for this challenge, but I never uploaded them to SCS so I did it now to the TLC19 challenge gallery and wanted to post here in case anyone wanted more shaving cream ideas. Marbled Heart and Baroque Friend
I am challenging myself to enter this challenge and the Mixed Media more often and be willing to try out the new things required. I did the Shaving Cream background for the first time, and I was thrilled with the way the color turned out...just what I was looking for. Here is my card: The Loss of Another Loved One!
