Happy New Year and Welcome to another TLC Challenge.
It's my turn to host this new year and I hope that you will get a chance to play along.
This week, we are creating a fun totebag.
TLC623; TOTEBAG
This tote is just perfect for gift giving. It is a good size that will be able to hold cards to give, baked goods or whatever you decide to give in it or just keep it for yourself to hold things in your craft room. It comes together pretty easily too and is a great way to use some of the DP's you have in your stash!
I found the video to make the tote on YouTube but here are the measurements in case you miss them.
Base- 5 x 8 " score at 1" from all edges
Sides- 12" long x 4 1/2" tall
7" long x 4 1/2 " tall
Handles- (cut 2) 1" x 11"
Score at 1/2" lengthwise.
Decorative Strips- **Please note...I cut mine 1" wide instead of the 3/4"
that was suggested in the video. I liked the look of a wider handle.

That is super-cool and so sturdy! Like the bag in a box, only a more useful size (to me) and I love the handles. I won't be along with a photo till after work tomorrow, though. Thanks, Karen!
What a great technique and awesome coincidence...I spent Sunday making the exact tote (I found on your blog site..Snippets). My tote is for a baby girl shower. I got photos today and hope to post tonight! I LOVE your sweet new tote Karen. TFS and hosting this week. I will be back!!! Hugs, nancy
:oopsumb question here - and I did look in the acronym list plus searched a bit - but what does TLC stand for? Whatever it is, I have to make this tote! Thank you for the challenge and the instructions.
Holy cow I had to replay the video five times to keep up because I kept dropping my pieces or getting them stuck to my fingers from the glue. Good thing for start and pause buttons. I plan on making a set of cards to match the one in the photo, and will be giving this as a gift on Valentine's Day.
I'm linking up two I did a month ago when I first saw Karen's. I know they won't count, but they were fun and wanted to show that I did do the technique.
