Happy Monday everybody! I hope Spring has is starting to arrive for people after a long hard winter.
This week for our techniques challenge we are using piercing, but not just any old piercing!! I was interested to see Dina's recent tutorial for No-Line Piercing.
Using a stamped outline on the back of my piece of card is certainly something I'd done in the past for a piercing template, but I'd never used it to outline an image and colour it as she did for the tutorial. I had a lot of fun trying this out for my sample. I found that the pierced lines really helped to contain my watercolours.
For this week's challenge you may either follow the tutorial (which I can highly recommend), OR you can just stamp on the back of your piece of card and use that stamped design as your piercing template, but you MUST use a stamped image or stamped design on the back of your piece of cardstock(flourishes, vines, whatever) as your template for piercing.
1: Stamp on the back
2: pierce from the back and then
3: turn over and complete your panel.
When you've created your card, upload it to the gallery and then come back and link it here so we can all see it! You get more views and comments if you link on the thread.
Please use the keyword TLC474 when you upload .
If you follow the tutorial, we do have a special gallery. Choose Technique Spotlight from the Main Gallery dropdown, and No-line Piercing from the subgallery. Other people can then more easily find your cards for future inspiration ;-).
If you're not sure how to link a card to this thread, here's how:
1. Open 2 windows or tabs: one window for your card and one for this thread.
2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link.
3. Go to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on)
4. Click EDIT. Click COPY
5. Go back to this thread. Click PASTE.
So glad you picked this technique Sabrina as it is one I'd been wanting to try. Wish my photo were better....still using DD's camera as my nice one has a stuck shutter : Pierced Wishes

I used my aqua painter, some ink and did some sewing to embellish my no-line piercing image- and added some gathered fabric as an adornment to my sentiment- here's Serenity, Courage, Wisdom

When I first started piercing mine I was using a piercer tool and it ended up I had the holes way too close together and I almost had the whole thing "pop out" so, I had to allow for some room so it would hold it together haha.. Thanks! for this kick in the seat of the pants ;) Sabrina
