Why do I have a Xyron?

I have a Xyron 510 that I am sure I had to have for some reason but I don't know what the reason it...

Can you tell me what you do with your Xyron?

I keep thinking that I will use it to adhere glitter to cardstock but that seems like an awful lot of trouble to go through for glitter when I can use my little Quickie Glue Pen.

So I need some ideas on why I should take this machine out of it's box

Sorry, I can't help - sold mine on ebay ages ago because it was really taking up too much room for something I wasn't using! I know others love it though, I'm sure you'll get good ideas on the thread

The Quickie Glue Pen is great for glittering small areas but the Xyron is fantastic if you want to glitter a large area. I also use my Xyron for my Quickutz dies. I use the 'X' and run ribbon through it to adhere to my cards. If you are doing mass production cards with ribbon, you could use the 510 to apply adhesive to lots of ribbon at the same time.

I have several Xyron. I use the little X all the time for adhering small punches and letters. Fast, easy and mess free.

I have the Xyron 500 (predecessor to the 510) and it sat on my shelf for years and years unused. Not too long ago, I made my first blank. cardboard scrapbook. I had trouble adhering the pp to the pages and used the Xyron500. Loved it!~ The refills are pricey but I've been using my M's coupons as they are the only one to still carry 500 refills vs 510.

When I have more than a couple of die cuts to adhere, I use my 510. It's a lot easier to send them thru for adhesive than trying to get glue on the right places of all the little cut outs (and not all over my fingers).

The 510 I use for

Intricate cut-outs
letters
Ribbon
Beedz...run your piece so the glue goes on the image side and then just press into a container of clear beads.
Glitter...Same as with beads
Mailing labels...for a secure hold. (I print labels off my printer
Chipboard...oooh...life is so much tidier with xyron instead of messy glues
Bookmaking...covering fronts and backs with patterned paper
Make my own sticker paper...run our Whisper White through so images I stamp on it can just be cut out and stuck on.

I go through staqes with it...at times I rely heavily on it, and at others I don't give it a thought for weeks on end. I do tend to use mine easily because I have a huge supply of cartridges, lol. That makes it easier on the pocketbook.

I have 3 and love them all....I know its expensive,but I use them for adhering all my layers...I never use glue.Everytime I get a coupon from somewhere I use it on a cartridge.

I just got the 900 a few weeks ago to make some matching game/concentration cards. Worked like a dream! I'll get pictures of them up on my gallery one of these days ...

The best use I found for it was for my Cricut. Before cutting anything out I took the whole sheet of paper and ran it through the Xyron. That way when it was done cutting I didn't have to try and get adhesive on all the little pieces of letters.

I use it all the time for layers on my cards, for adding adhesive to pretty much everything. I use glue sticks sometimes but never get the coverage that I do with the Xyron.

Another really cool thing is stamping an image on acetate with Stazon, running through the Xyron and then brushing Pearlex over the Xyron'ed side--then mat that on white and attach to a card. Very, very pretty!

I also use it for faux chipboard. I attach patterned paper to cereal boxes or other boxes using the Xyron and then run them through my Cuttlebug.

I honestly don't use it a lot but it's so convenient to use when I do use it.
