Default Substitute Reinkers for Retired SU pads

I have a lot of retired SU pads that I need reinkers for. Does anyone have a list or suggestions of color substitutions for any of these? I have reinkers for ALL of the original stampin spot colors, so if any of those would work, that would be perfect. Not finding much online and not finding reinkers in most of these colors on ebay or etsy.

Cameo Coral
crushed Curry
Summer Sun

pixie pink

ruby red
creamy caramel

apricot appeal

handsome Hunter

Old Olive

garden green

soft suede

Dusty Durango

certainly celery

so saffron

chocolate chip

pumpkin pie

Thanks for any help you guys can give.

Hi!

My name is also Tina. Some of the colors are still current but a few colors of reinkers for the newer firm foam pads are not compatible with the older felt pads. There are threads about that from a few years ago.

Also, search for the ROYGBIV color chart by fionna (that isn't her full username and her real name is Diane). If a color you need a reinker for has a color next to it, look at that color and see if it might be an acceptable substitute. You probably won't find options for every color but it's a suggestion.

Off the top of my head, Crushed Curry, Old Olive, Garden Green, Soft Suede, So Saffron, Chocolate Chip and Pumpkin Pie are current colors.

Happy Crafting!

Thanks! The person I got them from told me they were all retired. Nice to know most of them were actually still current. That only leaves me 9 to find substitutions for.

Can anyone post a link of which reinkers aren't compatible with the old pads? I am not doing a good job of searching, and I have mostly old ink pads.

Q: Do old Classic Stampin’ Ink Refills work with the new firm foam pads?
A: Yes, with the exception of Basic Black, Basic Gray, Marina Mist, Perfect Plum, and Tempting Turquoise, which have been reformulated to work with the new foam pad material. We do not recommend using old ink refills in these colors with the new firm foam pads.

Not sure if these colors work on the old pads but I would assume so since it was an issue with the new pads.

There a product called ink refresher. You spray it on. If the pad is just dry and not low on ink it works fairly good to refresh your ink pad. I've had fairly good luck with it.

I know that the red inks were also reformulatef a few years ago when SU red pads would sometimes get weird crystals on the surface and turn orangey. I believe they did this reformulation prior to the advent of the foam ink pads.

I would suggest you go to the buy/sell/trade forum and the ISO forum (in search of) here on SCS to find some of the old refills for your pads. Chances are excellent someone will respond!
