Question Question about Cornish Heritage Farms Scrapblock acrylic block

My CHF Scrapblock acrylic block had two protective papers attached to it. The first peeled off easily, but the second seems to be permanently adhered to it, i.e. I can't simply peel it off. When viewing a video demonstrating CHF Scrapblocks, it didn't look like the acrylic block the demonstrator used had any paper still attached to it. Is this second paper supposed to be able to come off, or should I just continue to leave it on?

Thanks.

I don't know if it will harm your block but have you tried any of the products, like Un-do to remove the paper. If you didn't see it on the video it probably should come off and you're the lucky person who got stuck with one that won't. Maybe somebody who has this block will give you more info. Hope so.

Thanks for the reply LorraineBK. No, I haven't tried an adhesive removal product on it at this time. I'd probably try to soak it in some hot water and dishwashing liquid first (although it is really stuck to it so I don't know if that would work), but I was hoping to get some verification that the paper is indeed supposed to come off. I tried searching the 'Net for an answer, but couldn't find anything other than the Scrapblock demonstration. If CHF was still in business, I'd ask them about it. I thought perhaps someone here might have this acrylic block and be able to let me know.

Sorry, I never had the acrylic block (I always use my Scrapblocks face up on the desk) but I've asked some of the other girls who were on the DT to see if any of them might know the answer so hopefully somebody will be able to chime in here!

I have this block. I don't remember if it had paper on both sides when I got it but it doesn't now so I'm sire it should come off! Good luck!

I have it and yes, the paper should indeed come off. I'd probably try soaking it in some hot soapy water and hopefully it will peel off.

I don't recommend glue remover products as I recall a while ago that while using on one of my blocks it "ate" the acrylic.

Thank you Angelnorth, stampwithkristine & Jennifer R. I'll try soaking it today and hopefully it will wash off.

Soaked it in hot soapy water for several hours. Paper still wanted to stay stuck to it, but with a bit of "elbow grease" I was eventually able to scrub away a small bit in the middle. Once I was able to get under the now-quite-stretchy adhesive under the paper, I was able to peel it off in pieces. Nice clear block with no residue. Thanks again!
