Possible replacements for Misti magnets

I don't have a Misti yet (covet, covet) but I've seen several people complaining about lost or broken magnets, and that the magnets used are heavy duty ceramic ones. I came across this listing on Amazon: Bitly for a set of 50 of these magnets for $16.99 and thought it might be useful to the Misti owners. Also, this same thing is an upcoming Lightning Deal this afternoon at around 3:30 Eastern time. (Probably only applicable to US folks). Anyway, wanted to put it out there in case it's helpful!

If you do get a MISTI, get the bar magnets, they are AWESOME!!!

Where do you get the bar magnets? I haven't had issues with the ones that came with my MISTI, but I think the bar magnet would work well.

My Misti magnets broke on day 1. :-(

I second the bar magnet. I use one. Simon Says Stamp also carries them so I added one on when I placed my order.

You can also wrap washi tape around each magnet like a belt, with a piece sticking out to have something to grab. Jennifer McGuire shows it using two washi layers in the first couple minutes of a video. I've done it for the original round and the bar neodymium magnets. I got one of the bar magnets from amazon. Wrapped washi around it to make a handle, a la Jennifer McGuire, and it works GREAT!

Not Dawn, but here are the ones I've found at Home Depot:

I went to Home Depot and they did not have any bar magnets but....they did have washer Neodymium magnets. Basically circles with holes. They were the same diameter as the magnets as that come with the Stamp Perfect or MISTI. For me, I do not need to put the washi tape on them because of the hole makes it easier to pull apart from the other magnets. Hope that helps.

My bar magnet came from Amazon, too. I had already washi-taped my door and my other magnets to make them easier to get hold of, so I automatically taped my bar magnet. That bar magnet is so strong that I'm not sure I could get it off the Misti without the tape!

Great price! I asked my stamping friends if they wanted to order. We're getting 12 of the larger 3 inch bars. About $32. shipping about $11.
