I went digging through my punch stash as soon as I saw her post. I think I need
to get the Optic Dot corner punch..it's one of my favorite medallions.

Okay, so I tried this oh-so-cool technique. It defeated me. :-( I musta tried 20 times (w/different punches), but, sadly, it's clearly operator-error; I couldn't get it to come out right, nor could I identify what I was doing wrong (but I was consistent).
So I tried a 2" square, and it came out fine. Obviously not identical to what she did, but if you didn't know any better, you wouldn't know any better, KWIM? I also tried a 1 1/2" square just doing opposite corners; again, not the same but still okay.

I had success with the 1 1/2" squares. Using my tweezer thingy I lined up the square corners in the punch & it came out fine. The way I did it was to rotate to each corner side by side, I didn't do opposite corners.
Are you punching it from the underside like in her picture tutorial? I had to redo a few because I didn't line it up carefully before I punched (upside-down) & I overpunched into the design.
The corner punches I used with success were... Eyelet Lace, Loop, Modern Garden, Embroidered Floral & Bird & Branch.
I'll have to try the 2" square too. Thanks for sharing your discovery! It may look nice to layer different size medallions.
Good luck & try again..it should come out exactly like the samples in the tut.

I agree with what someone else said, if you have those reverse tweezers it does make it easier and some corner punches work better then others. I am sure if you check out the medallions in my book you will see some aren't perfect.
My first attempt wasn't all that fabulous either, so please don't give up .... don't rush it, line them up carefully and it should work.

And her altered items are fantastic. I think she could take a can of tomato soup and turn it into a gift that is fit to give the Queen of England.
She is unbelievable. Most designers create great cards some of the time. She designs great cards every time.
If I had 10% of her talent I would be overjoyed.
