So sad to hear...you have my sympathy. When my CB Version 1 died I was excited to get V2 and at first I thought the new one was better. However, after using V2 for a little while I found that the suction does not hold as well. And the plate table (you know where you put the plates on that fold down -- have no idea what the proper term is) is shorter than V1 so it makes using the extended plates more difficult.
So sorry to here about the demise of your little bug. How long have you had it? I do hope you've gotten your money's worth out of it. Will you get another or go with a different machine?
*knocking on wood* If anything ever happens to my bug, I think I've decided on getting the Big Shot. I've had my bug for 10+ years and she's still going strong and handles everything I throw at her. But after having used the BS at several events, I think I just like it better. Of course, in a "perfect world", I'd have the Vagabond, but my craft budget is nowhere near perfect!

How awful for you! I have the original bug, too, and I don't care for the new version, either. Like Randa, when my bug goes to heaven I plan on getting the big shot, assuming the new version of bs gets good reviews.
Awww...may she rest in peace. She was worn out! LOL! I think if my Cuttlebug ever dies, I would get the Vagabond. It's not at all attractive but it seems to like hard work and a good work ethic is what I value most. lol
I recommend the Big Shot. I wrecked my Cuttlebug the same way you did. I then spent more to get a Big Shot. So much more industrial strength. I would never go back to a Cuttlebug. Much better machine. And is sold under other brands so you can get good deals on it.
awwwwwwww so sorry. I have the bug and still have my old red Sizzix. LOL I did use an electric big shot and LOVED it. Now to save my coins. As I get older it's harder to turn the handle on the intricate dies.

I know what you mean, don't you miss the cute 'lil green guy'? This was my first 'big' tool when I started this hobby. I was leery of investing too much $$$ on something for this hobby but what I spent on my CB was sooo worth it!
Once I wasn't paying attention and kept turning the handle even though it was hard. One side of the CB popped off. My eyes got BIG and my mouth must have shaped an 'O'. Don't know why but I looked over my shoulder and was able to pop the side back on and was back in business. Now I talk to it nicely and give it a pat for a 'job well done', when it use it. It is now going on 4+ yrs working with me.

Peace be with her/him :( I have my sweet little bug still and he's still going strong after four years. It is very special to me because my two daughter's bought it for me for Christmas.

I have had my CB forever. she still works but was making weird noises and a couple of parts fell out of her a while back. I used her on everything and couldn't stand the thought of being without.
I have trouble gripping things and decided to take the plunge and by an electronic machine. I went with the Vagabond and I am in love with it. I still have my bug and will keep her as a backup.

Sorry to hear of your bugs demise. They sure do work their hearts out. I have mine and love it and it has gotten a workout. I got the Vagabond for heavy duty work like cutting dies in bulk repetitve embossing for multiple cards. I have a bad wrist and I needed the help.
