Hey y'all,I may be looking for something that doesn't exist yet, but what I want are dies that just imprint a stitch line, or stitched shape (like a rectangle or square) on the front of my card...not something that will cut a whole panel.
Am I making sense and does this exist?:???:
Thanks y'all!! I'm sorry to have not clarified more! I do know about these and have some of them, but I'm no good at lining them up to make a square or rectangle shape to border my card front or make an inset...very inept in that department! So I've been hunting for something like nested squares or rectangles that would do the same thing the straight one lines do and make my work a ton easier.

Maybe this is what you're looking for. Nested Stitched Rectangle dies. I have this set by Gina Marie and love using it. The dies work great, and they are very affordable. She has other variations, too, with different shapes.
For me, if I was going to have a set of dies that cut rectangle stitching, then having it also cut the rectangle would be the greatest. I wouldn't want all the extra steps of cutting the rectangle after the stitching...or trying to line up the stitching on a rectangle I already cut. JMHO.

Totally get you on that...I have stitched rectangle dies that cut the panel as well as add the stitching and I love them. I am probably thinking of something they don't make yet! I just want to add stitching lines around a sentiment or make a stitched focal accent on my card front all in one layer, rather than cutting out a stitched rectangle and layering it on top of my card front. And also not have to use a template to add the stitch lines myself...I cannot keep things lined up to save my life!
I'd love wonky stitching to surround a die cut flower or sentiment! Maybe somebody who makes dies will read this and make it happen!!
Don't know if this technique would work for your purposes or not, but here is Gina K using a quilter's tool and a tracing wheel to add stitched lines to lots of different shapes:

OHMGoodness!!! How clever, clever, clever! I have used many of my sewing tools in my card making, but never thought about my tracing wheel! too cool! Thank you for sharing this video. Now I just have to find some templates like hers so i won't mess things up...

Here's the quilting thing she was using. It's called Omni-Arc:
I am wondering if you emboss the die instead of cutting with it, would it make it easier to find what you want? Then it indents but does not cut. It might also imprint the outer edge though. Test it.
I know you said you are not good with straight line dies but what about using a tiny head embossing tool and a stencil? You just go around the edge. They make basic stencils with circles and rectangles and so on. You can tape it down if you are worried it will slip. I see people do this often with straight lines to make borders and it's cool looking.
Just thought I'd let you know that a sewing wheel and the crafting ones create different looks. The sewing one has a larger wheel so it makes holes that are spaced farther apart.

I second the embossing idea!! You just need a rubber mat, and you can emboss any die. Jennifer McGuire has a few videos on this process so you can see it in action.
Stephanie Bernard from The Stamps of Life has dies that are "Only" dies. They cut the stitched shapes but does not cut out the rectangle, square, circle, or oval. I own the rectangle and square ones. I should use them more. They work just as intended, which is like using the stitched die that cuts with a rubber mat to make it not cut. Here are links:
With each die shown in the shop, there is a link to the gallery and video where they are shown and introduced. I find the videos and gallery very helpful.

yes, I had thought of embossing, tried that too...most of my stitched dies cut the outer edge so just getting the stitched lines to emboss was more than my peon brain could figure out!
