Wow, who would think that finding a huge roll of tape in my mailbox could get me so excited?
After years of hearing people talk about Scotch double stick foam tape, I finally ordered a giant 36 yard roll from Amazon that arrived today.
I just love it! It is so easy to cut to any size, and there is a whole lot of it.
I had previously used various brands of foam dimensionals, but they were usually not the right size or shape and I always had to cut them anyway. Plus, they were comparatively expensive. If I found them on sale and stocked up, many times the adhesive got weird, and the paper was next to impossible to peel off.
All problems solved with my great new tape!

I'm so glad that we can be excited about your tape with you! That's not something you can just brag about to anyone. I love this place. And the BIG roll!!

You are so right. I showed it to my hubby and even our toy poodle, and they were less than impressed, lol.
I have several friends who love receiving my cards, but they would not get it if I called them up crowing about a roll of tape.
What's funny, is I had kind of forgotten about ordering it, and they sent it in a rather large box, and not a padded envie, so it was truly a great surprise when I opened it.

I would be excited too; love the huge rolls of Scotch foam tape, that's all I use now too. The excitement is probably only something other crafters would understand!
Do you know the thickness of the tape, Bugg? I'm always looking for something that gives me a 1/16" or less lift. I use 3M mounting tape, which I like because it is clear and only 1/16" thick, but it is very expensive and 2 inches wide, so a pain in the neck and wallet to use.

I remember when I first started this hobby (addiction), I went to a card making class at a store where they had us use this foam tape. I bet my eyes opened really big when they brought out that humugnous roll! I told my friend I wouldn't ever need that much foam tape. I am now on my second roll but have bought many smaller rolls to keep in my workshop bag. The first roll did last a long time but I am stingy - cut the width/length to fit the area I want raised.
I too remember when I bought my first roll and thought I'd never use it up, well....... I saved a tape roll, and I'll wrap a good bit around the roll, so I don't have to drag in the big roll when I'm stamping. That way it fits in my supply basket and takes up less space on the table.
Who would figure something like foam tape could make us so happy!??!!
Add me to the list of foam tape lovers! I may have to get the big one, too - so far I just get the smaller ones with a coupon, since my space is so limited now...

Interesting!
I live in a town with a 3-M plant. Those of us who have friends in high places get those rolls basically for free from people who work there and can get "seconds" from the company store for 30 cents. They stick fine...they may just be a little warped, but it's not noticeable.
I have had many small rolls, but someone did give me the large roll at one time. I use it quite a bit, but I do buy SU dementionals.
I had no idea until right now that huge rolls are sold. My card making friend/co-worker and I always thought that huge roll was hilarious and just a mistake in manufacturing!

Great story, Alli! Wish I had some friends in high places.

I get your excitement too. I sometimes get things in the mail that I didn't remember ordering. I still get excited and blame it on my Ambien. I usually can trace it back to being enabled on someone's blog, this list, or youtube. There's always an excuse
. lol

I got the same roll and from Amazon too and I was as happy My non-crafter friends when they look at it they don't realize what it is. It's so BIG! My husband freaked out when he saw it and came to know that it's a tape
Hooray for foam tape!! I hope that if you bought 1/2" wide that's actually what you got. I have used the rolls from craft shops for a long time and usually cut it down to 1/4". My most recent purchase is "not quite" 1/2" wide! maybe 1/32 or less smaller! How do you get a complaint to such a big company? And do they really care since they are still labeling it 1/2" wide?!? These tiny changes just feel like we're being cheated a bit.
My next plan is to try fun-foam sheets like Jennifer McGuire shows in videos. My own glue, of course.

Huh! I haven't used my tape yet, but will measure it to see the width. You know, sometimes cardstock is not the size they say it is either - just a tad off. I use white cardstock for card bases and adhere the fronts. Sometimes I need to do a little trimming of the white which shows on the edges.

Sometimes you can find the fun foam in packs at the dollar stores, like Dollar General or Dollar Tree.
