I have a Big Shot that I haven't used much, so maybe someone here can help me out. Do you know if I can use the Cuttlebug Embossing Folders with the Big Shot? I found some embossing folders that I really like, but they are for the Cuttlebug machine. Do I need some sort of adaptor to do this?
Thanks,
Angela
Yep - as long as you have your Multipurpose Platform (or some kind of shim that likely came with it). I use the MPP on it's thinnest "setting" - with both of the tabs opened up, one cutting pad on the platform, the embossing folder with the paper, and the other cutting pad.
I read somewhere that you can purchase an adapter of some sort to use the Lasting Impression templates in the Big Shot to emboss. Does anyone know about this??
Thanks so much for all of your input! I am going to purchase some Cuttlebug embossing folders & try them out. They look so nice on so many of the examples I have seen on this site.

Hi,
I have a question about the BS embossing too. The embossed images shows up, the problem is there are parts where the paper tears up, it's almost like a die cut instead of emboss. I used the Big shot machine and a sizzix texture plate. What am I doing wrong?
When I use the cuttle bug, I use the regular platform and put the cuttebug embossing folder between the two cutting pads. For fiskar plates I use tab 1 on the multi-purpose platform, then textured plate, paper, scilicone rubber and then the impression pad.
I find when embossing vellum or very thin paper with the cuttlebug embossing folders, I need to put in two sheets to prevent tearing.
Do you find that you use the multipurpose platform? I just got a Big Shot and don't have the platform. Should I
Yes, I would definately get the multipurpose platform and the Big impressions starter kit. I use them all the time. They both have instructions for embossing.
