I tried good ole Google to see if I could find out for you, the only thing I could find was someone saying they wouldnt work because they are not Scan-n-cut which isn't a valid answer since you can use Cricut mats with a silhouette...will keep searching, but someone on here is bound to know!

What I have seen posted numerous times is gals are taking the cricut mat and cutting it to fit inside the registration marks on the snc mat. and doing it that way. the problem is the sticky aspect of the snc mat. My answer to that is to use zig two way glue pen and re glue my snc mat.
This is how Brothers makes you use their mat. Each end of the SNC mat has slits going horizontally across that register the mat as a SNC mat. I would think gluing another thin mat that is cut to fit within the scan area would work, but I've not tried it. I have used packing tape with sucess to mend cuts through the mat, add to the back side of the mat. Hope this helps.
I use cricut mats with my snc as they are cheaper, better quality and (most importantly) readily available via Amazon here in the UK. If I had to order from a tv channel they can take up to 2 weeks and I usually need them next day. As the old Brother mats have become unusable I trim down a cricut mat and attach it within the cutting area of the brother mat. Cricut mats are far stiffer and I believe give a much better cut than I have experienced with my machine in the past. No problems feeding the thicker mat through the machine. Scanning even seems improved!
I cut my cricket mats to 12 x 12 and stuck them in the snc standard mat worked no problem. Im also UK and snc mats are ridiculously expensive I bought 2 12x24 cricket mats for less than the low tack snc mat and from research the cricket last longer too so Im well pleased!
Oh I LOVE THIS THREAD! Thank you for starting it BohoDiva.
Girls- Do you stick your ScannCut mats to the Cricut mats? I was a little confused by the instructions. What glue do you use to adhere the two mats together.
I know here I go tacking on another unrelated question. Has anybody find cheaper blades to use with the ScannCut like Roland or Graphtec?
My question to you lovely people who have used a cricut mat over the Scan N Cut one is how? do we cut out the 12 X 12 section of the mat and stick the ccut down Cricut mat in the space OF do you just adhere the cut down Cricut mat over the Scan N Cut one? If this is what you do can you suggest and adhesive to use with this method. Thanking you in anticipation
I just adhere the Cricut mat to the ScanNCut mat. I use painter's tape. DON'T USE WASHI! It gets stuck in the scanner. I have seen so many people do that and then hurt the machine.
Remember when adhering the mat don't block the scan lines.
I know this is an old thread but... has anyone tried this with the newer SNC SDX series mats? And is there a video anywhere? I've only found 1 so far where someone cut the 12 x 12 area out of the SNC mat and the replacement mat and used packing tape to attach. It worked but, I'm not really happy with doing this as an "experiment" on my first mat.
I'm just posting here because I'm surprised that so many people can actually make the SNC work! I have to refer to the book every time and still don't get it right. I'm extremely frustrated with this purchase and it's not even connected to a computer....Oh, it is a computer!
I LOVE my SNC SDX125. The mats just don't keep their stick too long and are a bit expensive. So I've been looking into all of my options for mats. I use mine primarily for fussy cutting, and kiss-cutting stickers. I've done a little with vinyl. I really need to do more.
