Default Clear gesso

Has anyone made clear gesso? What recipe did you use?

I've not tried any yet, but this is the You Tube list i have bookmarked to watch, and see which seems to work best.

I have not tried this but here is a recipe I was given at one time:
3 parts white glue
2 parts cornstarch
1 part water

mix well and use immediately.

You are welcome, hope it or something else works for you. Personally I try to work around using clear as much as possible and I would not buy Liquidtex clear again.

Today I made a jar using pinkpoodle's recipe on Youtube. I tested it and it works great! I tweaked the recipe a bit as I went along since my container was larger.
It was worth the investment in buying the marble powder. Now I have enough marble powder to make clear gesso for years.

Glad you found something that works. I'm curious, how rough or smooth is it?

It is not smooth like plain cardstock, but it is not rough like some glitter cardstocks. It's dried texture is similar to regular gesso, its just clear.

It has an extremely rough texture which may be great for some techniques but not for bible art journaling. It was nothing like the white Liquidtex which I also have and use/love in regular art journaling.

btw , I love you're Van Gogh quote,,,

It is clear matte finish. You can't tell it's gesso'd until you run your hand across the paper.

Is this a recipe where you add baby powder to it? I've tried that one before & I didn't like it.
