So glad i read these post!! My SU person is always pushing the crop-a-dile but i have really small hands and find it so hard to use, my mat and hammer do the trick for me! Thanks ladies
Bind It All - only used once and I messed up my project. Thought I remembered how to use it from the LLS owner's demo. I guess I should have reviewed all the various How To's on YouTube.
I don't use my Big Bite often but sure am glad I have it when I do use it. I don't feel that way about the BIA.
I would love to have your bind it all

I cant believe so many of you have regretted buy a cricut, I use mine every day, I only have the cartridges that came with it but have scal so dont feel the need for them. I only have the trial design studio, so glad I didnt pay for that.
The things bought and not used are mostly embellishments and papers so I now buy digital so I can re-use them, Stamps as I`m not into stamping, and I think its called the curvy cutter but in all fairness I bought it and used it quite a lot before I could afford a cricut.
I have loads of edging scissors but I am giving them to my grandson and his friend so they wont be wasted.
The only thing I can think of is the fiskars shapecutter with templates, really not worth it, didn't cut anything thicker than paper, and even then got blunt quickly... Cheap and not worth it even being a cheap thing.
Also have a fair few pairs of edging scissors too, that never get used, But that was an ebay deal where I got like 12 pairs for $10 in a lot. So can't complain.
Good Thing I procrastinate on everything I intend to buy. Couldn't imagine paying out hundreds for something I never use, that would kill me!

A paper pack that had a few sheets with glitter. Made a mess and most of the patterns in the pack were hideous!
Bought one pair of edging scissors a few years ago and they were cheaply made and horrible to cut with, I vowed never to buy any of those again.
What was the thing that cut the shapes and then you put the shape in a metal tag thingy and crimped it to hold in the paper. I could never get it crimp the right way. Sold all the cutters and cripmers and kept just the tags. Now I just trace out the shapes and smoosh it closed from the back with my pliers. Glad I got it a Tuesday Morning for a couple of bucks each. I think I made money on those when I sold them.
Ah I think that was a mm tag maker... I just gave mine (unopened for over a year) to a friend as a gift. She loves it and uses it all the time, so just goes to show ya!
I've never had much luck with my Fastenator either. I don't know why I didn't get rid of the thing the last time I purged. I guess I should start a new purge box with it. ;)

You never know with us stampers!
I read where people will rant and rave about how great a product is and I try it and it's junk. Great way to move something out of your house!
Just part way through reading. . . I bough the Xyron too, and even with helpful hints from SCS, just too much hassle for what it did (or didn't do) so I took it back.
Now I wish I hadn't sold my crimper -- love the crimped ribbon someone showed and would like it to crimp cs for mailing cards.
What's even more amazing -- so many things I've never really heard of, LOL!
One thing I had forgotten about and really hated though ~ a glittery paper pad that smelled TERRIBLE!!! You know. . the plastic-y sort of smell?! Blech! Gave that away. I'm glad it was half-price though.
I just went through and read this whole stinkin' thread! Soooo glad to know I am not the only one. Also glad I hadn't purchased a few things I thought I "needed" but never got around to buying. That said, LOVE my Cricut, BIA, Crop a Dile (when I need it), Gypsy ... but I really can't get into my Circle Scissor. It slips all over the place. Hate that I have to adhere my paper to the glass to hold it in place to cut it!! Like my CM circle cutter much better ...
OK, I'll confess...Fiskars stamp press...still new in pkg.
What was I thinking?
@4Laura - try the Fiskars Stamp Press before you decide to get rid of it. I LOVE the Fiskars Stamp Press for large background stamps, like the "Cover Card" stamps and the "cling" type stamps. I think it words MUCH better than any other large handle system that I have ever tried. I also use the FSP for making multiple cards in the same style. I use it a lot, always on my table now. Give it a try, it might surprise you like it did me. :-) Also, check youtube for videos. I think I saw it used on StampTV the other night.
Got these drawer dividers at Target. They stack on top of each other and you can get them in plastic or canvas. Plastic was cheaper. I love them. So glad I got that digital camera for times like these!
Kathy
Thanks for sharing!! Thinking those would be perfect for me too!
I love my Fiskars Stamp Press. I have had it for probably about three years and have used it so much that its poor little feet are wearing out. Of course it probably doesn't help when I set stuff on it. ;-)
I had never heard of the Fiskars Stamp Press so I watched a quick video on You Tube. That looks like a great product. So, you Fiskars Press users.......no blurry images?
I just got one this past weekend for 40% off at J's and I am loving it! I have a few images that I just can't stamp clearly but this puppy does the work. I would highly recommend it!

I have had EXCELLENT luck with the Fiskars Stamp Press. My neighbor borrowed it to stamp calendars for teacher/daycare Christmas gifts. Both of us, totally sold. I press down in the center & work my way out to the edges for the best images. Sometimes, I make an oops, but I make it work by "distressing" or adding something over that spot as if I had intended to all along. :-)

Tag Maker? I can never get the tags cut out correctly to fit in it. Plus once I bought it and a bunch of the metal tags I realized I NEVER use tags! LOL

LOL - I rarely use tags also - I keep thinking that if I had just the right tool I'd do.... ! NOT!
I love this thread. I have so much stuff that I keep collecting. I have recently gone through all of my scraproom and discarded things to meals on wheels. I love my cricut and gypsy. I regret the Quickutz, the sizzix letters, flat stickers that I still have. I am always looking for storage ideas.
I have thoroughly enjoyed reading everyone's reply.
I bought a Cricut for Christmas and I am just not feeling the love. Too much work and adjusting because it rips the paper all the time!
My BIA does collect dust, but twice a year I whip it out and make books for my childrens' birthdays. I saw the idea at an Archiver's. What do you do with all of their birthday cards otherwise?! I bind their cards plus pictures (they make 4X6 sleeves) from their party into a book for each year. they LOVE looking at them! I also had a request from someone to bind all of her wedding anniversary cards into a book after she saw the kid's books.

I loved reading this thread, I tend to buy a lot of things on ebay so don't spend too much on them to start with but if I'm not using it, it goes right back on ebay as the buyer pays the postage.
My regrets are stamps, stickers and paper from when I first started crafting and wanted everything I laid my eyes on, I've slowly become more selective about what I buy and try, I don't always succeed but I do try to ensure I will use what I am going to buy.
I have given away heaps to school, craft clubs, friends, friends school and to my DD.
I am currently banned(by me not anyone else) from buying more paper pads unless they are under 2.50 as I have several on the go.(got a lovely set of xmas paper (12x12) from do crafts today for 2.00, you can't turn that down especially as it was free p+p);)

LOL - I banned myself too and then I was at Hobby Lobby a few weeks ago and just HAD to have the Laundry Line stack by Jen Wilson. Darn it!!!! I had such shame driving home LOL. "Hi, my name is Kate and I am a paper addict."
I get all inspired and love paying just $9.99 when they are half off. Problem is I have more paper than a girl oughta
WOW! This has been a most interesting thread. While I was working I spent a ton of money on gizmos, gadgets and supplies. Even worked as SU demo, but I was my only customer and just couldn't keep up with the quota. Of all those items I bought, both big ticket and not so big there are only two I actually regret. My BIA, still new in the box, thinking I should put it on Ebay, and my Fiskar embossing plates, along with the tool. Of course there are some rubber stamp sets that today are just totally questionable, I bought the whole color set of the SU ink pads, most of which are still wrapped in plastic. I even bought the small set to match so I could use them to ink edges. With all those colors I still never seem to have the ink pad I need. Either the color or the type. I love my Cricut, Big Shot, most of my gizmos as well. I had decided a couple of weeks ago that I would challenge myself to look up the item and see how someone has used it and make at least 5 projects with that item. I have a ton of the little punches, but I really need a better way of storing them. I wanted a Score Pal, but found out I could put a score blade in one of my cutters and am using it quite wonderfully, best part is that the blade was less than 5 bucks.
I am glad that our LSS has a used stamp (and accesspries) sale every year so I can recoup a small portion of what I've spent on my regrettable purchases. I have become a lot more selective in what I buy now, and will try to use the stamps I have instead of having to have a particular image just because someone did something wonderful with it. My weakness is dies and punches. I love 'em. And have lots of them! I swore I wouldn't buy anything by Martha Stewart, but I was wrong. I hope to make a fair bit of spending money at the sale this year. I have too much stuff and am seriously going to clear some stuff outta here!

Oh, get those embossing plates out and run them through your BigShot. The embossing is amazing. I have a BigShot too but I run the Fiskars embossing plates through my Cuttlebug and the results are just stunning. I always get the most beautiful deep impressions. I couldn't part with my Fiskars embossing plates. I tend to reach for them more than my folders. One of the reasons because they do cover a bigger area than most folders. Even though that is starting to change with the newer folders out.
I am Little Miss Frugalite. I will try every paper scoring alternative out. Nothing beats a score board IMO. It's becoming a necessity tool in paper crafting. I really don't say that lightly. A lot of necessities are just trends. The score board is not a trend. I have two the Scor-it and Martha Stewart Score board. I use them both for different reasons.

I love to emboss, but for some reason those Fiskar plates just do not emboss well. I have run them through the big shot, that is what I thought I would do with them when I bought them. After bringing them home, running them through a number of ways, just did not get a very nice impression. I then bought the little Fiskar tool you run over it and it was so much work that I gave up on that idea. It didn't give a very good impression either, in fact it was actually worse.

Try spritzing your cardstock with some water before you run the plates through the big shot. They don't come out quite as defined as the folders, but they do come out more defined with the water. HTH

This thread has made me laugh, given me some ideas, and made me feel less guilty and not so alone!
I, too, have regretted buying my Cricut Expression. I just don't use it as much as I should but I have trouble getting the paper not to tear even wth sharp blades and sticky mats. The design studio is something I use every time I use the CE though. I like setting the mat up before I cut! And SCAL has added to my shape library without much cost, so I have to give that a thumbs up.
I have waaaay too many cutters that I've purchased over the years that either cut crooked lines or tear the paper more than they cut. I'm going to search for a thread on the best cutter so I can spend even MORE money on the dang things!
Stamps. Waaaay too many stamps that get used once or never.
Those Fskars boder punch/emboss gadgets. They really ought to be called the Fiskars border squish/tear thingies.
Fiskars embossing plates. I was trying to save myself the expense of a REAL embossing system. The little tool is useless. I did find some use for them with a stylus tool and a lot of time and effort before I finally took the dive and got my Cuttlebug, which I use every time I play. LOVE IT!
All in all though, I wouldn't say I "regret" any of it. I have sold a few things back on ebay and at tag sales, but keep a lot of the stuff I don't use because SOME DAY I will use it! And in the meantime, I've organized a big box of paper, tools, pens, etc. for my granddaughter and her friends to play with when they come over....it keeps them busy for hours!
Mine was the Xyron 850. Don't get me wrong, I love this thing and use it constantly. So did my hubby, when he was making sales notebooks for the sales team at his workplace. So did the neighbor's kids, when they were doing school projects. I almost took it in for a charity cardmaking session at my workplace.
That's the problem. I'm going through adhesive cartridges at an alarming rate. The manufacturer discontinued the model, so no more adhesive. If it can be found at all, it's usually on EBay and people are willing to kill for it.
Really, it's not worth dying over what is essentially a sheet of glue dots.
