Default Winsor & Newton Sansodor Oil is this basically Gamsol?

Ok I have been reading threads all about Gamsol and different blending products for prismas for the last HOUR im determined to get this weighed off. I have researched about Gamsol and this is how i have understood it basically you need a mineral spirit to use to be able to blend the colours??? I hope i am right I have managed to find this make as i live in England I have not seen gamsol over here to buy. Can i use cotton buds( Q-tip) to blend with the mineral spirit?

thank you
