I just bought one so I don't have to hand crank, the 9 x 12 platform will hold more folders or dies, and the metallic plate should prevent the dies from shifting so much. I just bought it this weekend and haven't unboxed it yet.
By the way it's only $179 at Hobby Lobby vs. $239-$249 on Amazon.
I totally love mine! Honestly, I have owned CB and Big Shot. I think they are fabulous products but, the Gemini shines above all the rest!!!!! It has taken my crafting to a higher level and the embossing is superior to none!
I bought the Gemini because I wanted to be able to cut the larger dies for decorative edges on my cards, and because of how easy it is to use. I love it!
Just wanted to let you know I unboxed and played today. This machine is heavenly. I ran 2 6x6 embossing folders through at a time. Just make the sandwich and wait for it to do all the work.
As a die maker I have to say the Gemini is fantastic. I highly recommend it. Otherwise a big shot. When people have a problem with a die I always ask what machine they have. Out of the dozen machines on the market 3/4 people having issues cutting a DIE have a cuttlebug (that I have found personally). I'm guessing the pressure is different. And I think as the years have gone by cheaper parts are used to make some crank machines (more plastic instead of metal). I think it is fantastic how you get an embossing pad and magnetic sheet with the Gemini too! And the amount of room on it is amazing. Fill that puppy up and cut 20 dies at once!
