BTW, I really don't like the "new" style of the SU pads. I prefer the old style. It seems so hard to open them. (Well, I just have the ONE black, so I shouldn't imply I have more than one.)

I also chose the spots over full size pads for reasons mentioned here. I do own a handful of full size pads, and I do love them also, but economically spots allow me to have all of the colors.

Before I was a demo, I only used spots. The only full sized pad I had was a basic black. I store mine in their original boxes upside down. When I open them, I use a razor blade to slit the sticker right on the seam where the top meets the bottom and they open very nicely. I then trim any hanging strings so that they don't leach out onto the labels.

Default spots

I have all four families of SU spots, and I love them. I especially like to dab two or three on a wheel, lightest color first. Gives great effects!

I have all the craft spots and prefer them. Easier to store and much less expensive. Any color I find I use a lot of them I'll get the full size pad. Right now I only have 4 full size pads -- black and gray because no spots; and 2 others I purchased before I realized that if I went the spots way I could have all the colors in just a few months. I did it with my demo's buyers club.

I can tell most of you like your spots- hmmm???
I have the OPPOSITE opinion- I am a SU demonstrator and when I started I thought that was the best way to start off too (mostly to save $$) - and I have since replaced all of my spots with full sized pads and prefer the full size completely! I even prefer the craft ones in full size too- but I do a lot of embossing too! Well, maybe its just me? Hehe!

DITTO! this works out great for me! i keep my spots in the original boxes and all four stack in one storage bin which is easy to get at when i need them. i'd never give up my full size classic pads.

I love my spots. I got the full size pads in the in colors simply because the in color bundle was offered this year, and I have a black and a chocolate chip. The full size pads are hard for me to open and they have a dip in the middle that prevents me from getting the coverage I want.
I store my spots in clamshells, not SU! clamshells, but ones I got from another company. They fit one set perfectly and make it easier to find the colors I want. I got tired of opening the cardboard boxes. PM me if you are interested in the clamshells as I have TONS of them!!

Clamshells are the clear boxes that the SU stamp sets come in.
