I can only buy one or two, but I don't really have a feel for what's out there. I'm open to any brand (SU, Fiskars, MS, etc.). I actually just bought the Fiskars Threading Water punch, but I'm not sure I love it and think it might be too common. So...
1. Tell me your favorite border punch.
2. Link me to a fab sample from the gallery that uses the punch, if possible OR
3. Link me to the actual punch (a store where it's sold, manufacturer website) so that I can at least see the pattern.
FWIW - I don't want anything "themed" - like beach or cars, etc. Only decorative designs, please.

I LOVE it...nice and delicate, so you can use it for smaller borders and I'm a little bit addicted to running the hearts through the xyron machine and using them on my card, too.
Here's one card that used the edge and the hearts.

Save your HEAVY cardstock for other parts of the card. Punches "are designed to work with 60 lb paper." The nice folks at Fiskars told me this AFTER I broke two of their border punches on 80 lb paper. They were very kind and replaced both the punches, but all the plastic parts don't hold up to that much pressure over and over again. And 100 lb cardstock? Forget it for punching. Just doesn't work.

That stinks. I haven't bought a Fiskars but my MS punches work on my Papertrey Ink cardstock and it's 110lb.
Oh, why do you people torture me so? Every time I see a beautiful card (see above samples by, well, everyone of you who posted a link), I run out and buy the border punch or other item with my 40% off coupon. I get it home, I play with it. And then nothing. Cobwebs shortly surround my new toy. And I move on to the next one. I'm hopeless! But enuff about my unresolved gadget addiction.
However, since you asked, I LOVE the new EK Scalloped Scallop border punch and anything that Martha Stewart sells.
I have to go now. It appears an intervention is about to take place about my addiction to punches and stamps and gadgets in general. Sigh........ I'll write you all from rehab.
I want that MS Scalloped Dot one - actually there are lots of hers I want.
Is Michaels still carrying them? My Michaels is moving to a new location Sunday and they have not had much Martha stuff out for weeks - just some seasonal punches. I really hope so. It seems WalMart only carries one or two designs. BAH!!
I love me some border punches!! My faves are the SU Scallop Border and the SU Eyelet Border. They punch through the thicker cardstock easily. I have a few of the EK success new ones and the MS ones but the MS ones don't cut as well through thicker cardstocks.
My favorite look is Martha Stewart border doily punch but you have to use 60 lb or less paper to get it to work easily. I also love the easy to use fiskar punches especially the one with hearts. Martha Stewart gingerbread men are especially cute also. She has lots of good ones at Michaels. The two I would like to have later are the train and fence border punches (toooo cute).

I love the new EK Success Edger punches. I picked a few up at Michaels when they were on sale. The punch like butter through thick PTI cardstock. These are the best punches I have ever used! I have one martha stewart punch, but have never bought any more because they don't seem punch very well with thick cardstock (most of the time based upon my experience and what I have read on the forum). I definitely recommend these new EK Success ones. They were released at CHA this winter. You can see the different designs here: http://evafromca.blogspot.com/2009/0...ha-photos
Martha Stewart Simple Scallop edge punch is my absolute favorite. I reach for it all the time. Here's one of my cards using the punch.
Annie, love your card! I had never seen this punch before, I prefer simple and this punch fits the bill. I have been wanting to get the scallop dot punch too. thanks everyone for the info.
I love the new EK Success Edger punches as well! I want them all but only have a couple right now. Love how they punch those thick PTI card stock perfectly!
I just picked this one up the other day at Michaels but haven't had time to play with it yet. After seeing your beautiful candy wrappers, I think it will become one of my favorites as well. Thank you so much for sharing! :-D

I think my favorite is my Fiskars "Lace Border Punch". For this card I punched each side of the cardstock to make the two borders (one is a bit larger than the other so that I could add the ribbon and pearls) and then inked it with VersaMark Watermark ink, coated it with "Star Dust Transparent" embossing power and then set with my heat gun. It was very hard to capture in the photo. I have used this technique a number of times.
My other favorite is the Martha Stewart "Lace Doily" that others have mentioned!
I would agree with most of you here the MS Lace Doily border punch is my FAV. Yes, they do break if you keep using them on heavy CS. I just had this Lace one break last week that I have just been using it on SU CS.
Good luck with your decision!!
My all-time favorite is the Fleur de Lis border punch by EK Success. Since I bought it, I've hardly ever used anything else. I'm a frugal gal with limited funds, too, and if I could only have one border punch, this would be it.
I think I love every card I've ever seen it used on, but here's a link to one of the first cards that came up when I searched for it in the gallery:
I really like all my border punches - but tonight I got the EK Success Swiss Cheese Border Punch - after months and months of searching - it's always been out of stock.
