I was a huge Duck brand fan. Since they have changed their format, I'm looking for a new tape runner. I have an ATG, but like the small runner for small spaces. Anyone have one they love?
I like my ATG for even really small stuff...but if it's a tight squeeze, I use my Tombow (SU SNAIL) runner...it has a nice sharp point and it works pretty well.

I love the EZ Runner by Scrapbook Adhesives. I buy them from Joann when they go on sale for 40% off or better, or use a 40% coupon and I buy them in the two-pack. I often get them for about $3.50 -3.75 per roll, there are 28 feet per roll. It's not as cost effective as the ATG but I like the size and I really like the adhesive.
I'd love it if Scor-Tape came out with scor-tape in a tape dispenser - I'd even pay a bit more per roll if it came in a dispenser! Scor-Tape is really cost effective, it's easy to use, you can tear it off with your fingers, and it sticks for forever. But sometimes I want the ease of grabbing the tape runner to adhere something. I like the price of the ATG refills, but I can't see myself using a gun that size with my hands. I would really like to be able to try one out one of these days and see if I could actually use it easily.
I agree with you about DUCK. I recently tried an AdTech runner that I bought at WalMart. I'm pretty happy with it and it, plus refills in packs of 2, were cheap.
I really like covering as much as possible so I will probably get a 2.5 Xyron (I have a 500 and the 1.5 X-shaped one) but it is not inexpensive to use this as a main adhesive.
I love tombow! It's always worked well for me. I make cards and scrapbook and none of my heavier embellishment have ever fallen off : )
I recently purchased a glue glider pro and like it alot as well. I especially like that it is very lite weight and the adhesive cartridge is extemely easy to replace.
Kokuyo Dot 'n Roller all the way!! And, for when extra sticking power is required, I really like the new Glue Glider Pro. It's similar to the ATG gun but a LOT lighter and easier to handle.
For those that use the Kokuyo runner, I have used the red ine which I liked a lot but I accidentally bought the blue refill. Which one do you prefer (if you've used both) and why? If you've only used one, please share what you like about it.
There was another thread about the AdTech runner a few weeks ago here on SCS. So I went up to our local WallyWorld and bought the runner and also bought the refills. Love the price on the AdTech runner and refills. I've used it and love it. It really gives a permanent hold on many things. I have an atg gun and one roll left on it. But the AdTech was much easier to handle for the small projects that I use this on. Price wise, I love it. Especially now that dh has been laid off. This is a good tool to use. Now when I go to WallyWorld for our grocrey shopping and what not... I've been just picking up the refills.

I have only used the blue kokuyo tape runner, which is permanent. Is there any difference, is the red one repositionable?
My understanding is both are permanent. The refills seem to be different sizes but they are packed so I cannot look at them to make a more certain post.
If you have a Staples Business Depot they sell a tape runner that is branded as theirs. By far one of the best tape runners I have had. I was sick of paying almost $10 a pop for the Tombow ones and decided to try the Staples brand and I'm glad I did. It works just a good at the expensive one and I would even say better, plus it's only $4.00.

Could you please tell me how many feet are in the Staples one? Thanks
I am so glad that this thread was posted. I loved the Duck adhesive runner before they changed it. It is awful now. I can't get it to work on anything. Anyone else have that problem.
To answer your question, I bought a Tombow plus two refills today. I like it, but may have to check out some of the others.
I recently posted a thread about the new Duck Brand adhesive. I hate it too. I found a page on thier website that I could leave a comment and told them how much I liked the old one and hate the new one. I hope more stampers and scrappers will do the same and maybe they will bring the old version back.

I looked on the packaging but unless I'm blind I didn't see it. It's pretty much the same amount as the Tombow and really for the price, being as good as tombow, you can't lose. Here is a link to it on the Staples site. It's the Canadian site but more or less the same.
Roll-On Dispenser applies double-sided film for instant, permanent adhesion
* Permanent adhesive sticks and stays put
* Flip Back Cap protects glue tape for easy storage
* Acid free and photo safe
* Glue Tape measures 1/3 inches wide by 393 inches long
* Clean and odorless - suitable for all kinds of paper
* 2/Pack for $7.49
A customer did bring up (in the comments section) that there are no refills available, so the entire cartridge ends up being thrown away. That really is too bad; it's not as economical or green as it could be.
Not as green, I agree. It would be fantastic if they offered a refill for it. But the fact that it cost less than half of the leading refillable ones is a nice bonus. Here in Canada a Tombow cost about $10.00 then $8.00 for a refill that is about $18.00 in total. I get about 4 of the staples brand and more glue that goes a long way. So I would categorize it as being very ecomomical but you're absolutely right that it's not very green and you do have to throw away the cartridge.
Me, too. I used to like the Tombow but when I tried the Kokuyo, Kokuyo is the BEST. Tombow turns into a gummed ball and Kokuyo will not with al the mini dots.
With Kokuyo if you make a boo boo just rub it off with your fingers. I mostly use the Blue refill, the permanent one.
No brainer. No competition. Tombow permanent mono adhesive runner. Easiest drop-in refill. No more expletives as you untangle the dropped refill tape from little wheels and fingers and clothes and carpet and the cat and etc... SU tape runner looks like a Tombow mfg.

For me the Tombow Mono clump up together and make lumps on my paper and/or leave cobweb like leftovers, just like the SU tape runners.
Kokuyo used to be favorite until it was discontinued for a while and now it's back with another supplier, I think.
Since the Kokuyo hiatus I have now discovered the Tombow brand "DOT" adhesive, not the mono one which I always fight with it's clumps and cobwebs. This new Tombow brand DOT does not clump, and always refills with ease. The new Tombow DOT refills fits into the original Tombow mono cartridges.
I loved the red Kokuyo, then tried the blue dotted one, eh. Did I hear that Kokuyo is back???
For a repositional I guess the Dotto from EKE is my fav. It's not terribly cheap but I do like it's sticking power for a repositional. But the Kokuyo permanent was the best.

I've had great luck with Wal-Mart and the ad tech glue runner. There was a time when they seemed to jam up but not any more. They are always available to me (I live in a very rural area) and they are a great price and stick well.

I was also a Duck fan but when they changed packaging, I started searching for alternative. AdTech is really good and economical. Refills are available at Walmart for $2.99 (2) but Big Lots is selling it for a lot less. AdTech permanent tape runner is being sold at Big Lots for a dollar a piece. So when I have a chance, I would go out and buy a bunch.
