My best buy has to be the one I just made. I ordered the Silhouette last night for $99, and found a coupon on line for $5 off of that. Shipping was sort of steep, but I was thrilled with the price. Now I just have to wait patiently for it to get here...........

My husband found my Silhouette on ebay for $100 and I absolutely love it. If you're good with the computer you'll love it, too. I've made templates on the computer for years so I could print them on paper and cut them out by hand. This is so much easier. If I'd know how much fun it was I'd have bought one years ago, good price or not.
Wow! I can't believe I've had all these replies, thank you to everyone, and please keep them coming! Everytime there is a product mentioned that I have not heard of I have to go and check it out! Anyone else do that?
I have a small guillotine the make is Tonic studios and its really great, worth every penny, but I wonder why the score-pal doesn't have a guillotine on one side...seems the obvious place to put one to me?
I think the best buy was my Memories Black Dye ink pad. I bought the darn thing 5 years ago and then reinked it once about 6 months ago. It still stamps crisp, dark and waterproof.
The next item would be an SU catalog!

Not one person has mentioned copic markers? My best buys are in no particular order:
Copics, Nesties, ATG
I use all of these items every time I walk in my stamp room. I couldn't live without any one of them.

Yes, MM stamp pad, same as you still going strong!

Funny how lots of people use them, but you are the first to say they were your best buy!
Hmmm... I have trouble with the favorites game. I have so many (but still want MORE! lol) One favorite is definitely my Cuttlebug and all the nesties (need morrrrrre!!!), EF's, and dies that go along with it. My other favorite is the ribbon holder that my dad made me (My dad rocks! He can make anything ). I can actually see all my ribbon now. I'd post a picture, but I'm not at home right now.
The 2 things I REALLY want to add to my favorites lists are an ATG gun and a new paper trimmer. The ATG's are SO bloody expensive here. $80-90 for the gun and $8 for the refills at a LSS... Need to find another source methinks! As for my stupid Fiskars trimmer... I'm sick of buying brand new blades only to have them STILL leave jagged edges. GRR!
Sorry.... got a little sidetracked with that rant!
Let's end on a positive note... I also love my tempered glass cutting board that I bought to use with my Curvy Cutter circle cutter, but now use all the time for everything... Just a much nicer work surface than my plastic table.
Love hearing everyone's favorites... It's like those reader's choice articles or the "Don't Go to the Cosmetic Counter Without Me" books!

Another vote for the MM precision trimmer! It's my most used tool for the past 2 years and still cutting perfect!
My other favorite for the past year or so is border punches. LOVE the new EK success ones, but I still use my Fiskars and MS border punches all the time. They just add so much to a card or a layout.
As for adhesive I found an adhesive at my wholesaler place (as I own a scrapbooking online store in Canada) and they had rolls of double-sided adhesive like the scorpal adhesiv for 50 cents the roll. So I bought the whole box. I sell it in my cardmaking/stamping/scrapbooking classes.
For the tool. I think the Nesties are great. It is small, cheap if you compare of having the same possibilities with punches it would take a lot of space and would be expensive
An other one is the Ultra Clean stamp cleaner. I can not leave without it. I do not need my Stazon cleaner anymore and ALL my stamps are really clean.

I love Nesties too! when i ran a craft business they hadn't been invented, although the ark had:rolleyes:
I would have to nominate something we OTBP (Over the Big Pond) call a Pokey-Tool.
Its a sharp pointed tool one end, great for piercing but even better for lifting the tape, and lifting the tape off foam pads, stick in and lift... easy! Great for moving things into position as its slim, like a crochet hook for size.
The other end had a sticky blob, its the same as on those re-usable lint rollers, not sticky as in tape, but tacky as in toffee, but like a plastic. Its perfect for tiny pieces, lifts anything from decoupage to pearls, beads, sequins, and then the glue you are pooping the piece onto has a greater pull and away it goes! terrific if you have dexterity problems or chunky fingers or a really good nail job, Hee hee!:-D

Try NHS Media. The ATG is $55 CAD and the refills are $3.79 for the regular 924 (not the gold scrapbook one, they seem to be out of that one right now).
The ATG is absolutely one of my best purchases, worth every penny!
Copics I'm not so sure right now. I've had my copics less than 6 months and I've already had 2 markers go empty, and trying to get the refills has been a PITA. Other than that I love them.
My multi-liner pens have been worth every penny. They help me fix up the boo-boo's in my stamping.
Palette Noir is worth the money. Even my kids know that the SU black isn't black.
My carl cutter is great, I only have a few issues with it. It's still 5000% better than the cheap Fiskar's trimmer, but between the 2 they fill all my needs. Cut with the Carl, score with the fiskar's and any "tiny" slices.
Ooohhhhh. I'm so excited! I saw a link here somewhere that advised that the Big Shot was on sale at a terrific price at RitzCamera...yesterday they were out of stock :( , but today I was able to order one for an absolutely fabulous price! $66.65 with NO sales tax and I even got free shipping (threw in a couple of Nesties and a bookplate die)!!! ALL this for only $113!!! (shhhhh....don't tell my S/U demo!) I'd been saving up forever to buy it through S/U, but times are tight now and it looked like it was going to be several more months before I had enough saved. Woo-hoo!!!!! I can't wait to get it. Now I have to find room on my craft table...hmmmmm, THAT could be a problem....
Thanks to whomever posted this terrific deal. I love you!!!! ;)
In terms of saving me money on paper and blades, I'd say my X-Acto Laser trimmer. LOVE that thing!!
Then, in terms of how much money I've saved on adhesive, I'd say my ATG.
But...if we're talking about something great I got for cheap, there are a few:
1) Slice...got it for $75.
2) Cricut...got it for $100
3) small white scraper thing I got for a dollar years ago at Bed Bath and Beyond years ago. Still use that thing!!
but what exactly is a "tracing wheel" (listed in the first post). For .50 it sounds like a deal whatever it is! =)
Evaleen
This is a small tool, a little wooden handle, then on the end is a dished metal part to protect the fingers. A bit like a mini wheelbarrow in shape and with a single wheel on the end that is sharp toothed like a cog from inside a watch or clock.
It is used for transfering a pattern through good old fashioned copy paper the blue stuff from typwriters? And its real use is to go along the lines of a dressmaking pattern piercing tiny regular holes through the layers onto the cloth below, thus transfering exactly the pattern.
However we canny crafters use it for piercing faux stitching thus saving hours and not needing a sewing machine. place the cardstock over a soft mat such as a mousemat, and run it along a ruler easy! and if you are careful you can do round circles and corners and wavy lines.
Then if on dark cardstock it looks nice if you 'join the dots' with a white or silver gel pen.
On light cardstock it looks good with almost any color!
For someone special I would go to the trouble of threading a needle and really stitching it, in which case remember always to pierce from the front of the cardso the holes are really neat.
Look for one in a dressmaking haberdashery shop.
I hope this helps.

Well for more ideas besides my stamp-a-majig I also love:
Momentos black Ink.
My Making Memories trimmer.
Score Pal.
Copics *they are a bit pricey but every single one I've bought has been well used*
My huge desk I got at a business going out of business type sale. It's an office desk, but huge and sturdy with deep drawers. I love it.
these weird X cubes I got at staples. They are little cubes you keep on thier sides, I have 4 of them, so I stack them two by two, then there are plastic X's inside so I can hold a TON of markers/pens in each one. I keep that little tower on my desk top.
All my CHF backgrounder stamps
quality white cardstock. PTI and Gina K. are both fab and make all my projects look nicer.
My SCS membership has really increased my skill.
My ATG. Saving me tons of money on adhesive. Also it's cheap enough that I can use it all around the edges of my layers which I think looks so nice.
My grid paper thingie from SU.
Those are some of my favorite basics.

This list would be harder to post than what you regret buying, but if I had to pick one - it would be my TONIC Guillotine style cutter. Straight cuts every time.
Cuttlebug and Nestabilities !!!! LOVE them, use them always, need more!
MM Trimmer - went through so many others before I got this one. Perfect cut every time.
Copics - Can't color without them.
As for my best deal, probably a huge box of TAC stamps for $5. All I can say, is that lady didn't know what she had. I have tons and tons and still need more.
After reading all the other posts, I am going to be getting the ATG gun. Looked at it and decided I can't live without it.
Next things on my must have list : Prismacolor pencils and Storage. Can't be too organized. Think I will get the X cubes from Office Depot.
I LOVE my prisma colored pencils. I use them everyday. The were my best buy and my best bargain. I got a set of them at Hobby Lobby. They were in a black portfolio with a pad of paper. They had been there unsold for a long time so they were on clearance. Hobby Lobby was also at the same time have a discount on artist pencils that I was able to use with the clearance discount.
One of your recent comments AFTER mentioning how FEW PEOPLE have responded to your initial post began with........
"Wow! I can't believe I've had all these replies, thank you to everyone, and please keep them coming...."
FOLLOWED BY: "Over 1000 views but so few comments, Come on folks, what do you love what are you using right now........"
Note to Dale: this is a great thread but please stop hounding us! Stop counting! Maybe we're a little too busy this time of year (Easter week) to take time out to reply. It's a little stressful right now for those of us on the other side of the pond.
I appreciate the topic, but please stop counting the views and frequently reporting back about how few people have responded. Thanks.
I'll get back to you next week about my greatest buy, favorite product, etc.
Cuttlebug!!! Love it Love it!
Scor-pal -- I think I'll be loving that when I have to make 50 gazillion Christmas cards!
SU Watercolor Crayons and aqua pen!
Firstly, I am so sorry to have caused offence. Apologies to Turkeyday53, and anyone/everyone else.
I am really so interested to read all your responses, many of you have listed tools and favorites that I have never seen, many of us OTBPond, myself included look them up!
I loved the comment from Erin K who said her 'huge desk'-I can only dream of such space! And Beagle lover who got a custom room fit!
I use an IKEA wardrobe shell (no room to open doors) with 4 half shelves in the top, and then a full depth one, with a computer-pull-out-keyboard shelf below that. The pull-out allows me to slip half finished cards away, when I get exhausted. which is after about 15 minutes, due to health; but then they are sitting ready for me to pick up where I left off. Cat proof too, clever huh? (Then below that there are drawers) Another advantage of the pull out table is the overhang for us wheelchair users. Set it to the right height when building unit, and just wheel right up to it!
OK now I'm giving too much away...
Bh_dallas that's the same for me; my Tonic was a great big best buy, If a score-pal had a guilotine on one side that would be dreamy!
And Jennie barron, and Pricecheck, yeah the bone folder, saves many a papercut, does the greatest unsung hero of a job. I have two one whit and one old wooden one that just feels wonderful in your hand.
Thank you to everyone who has so kindly responded.:-D

My Copics are worth every penny I've spent. My friend Lauren posted this on her blog the other day to show how far they can really go I only have sets A and B of the Ciaos, but am hoping to add more soon.
Nesties...Love 'em! Make MANY a project much easier
Mono multi adhesive...I don't have (yet want) an ATG gun yet...so for now, this is my adhesive of choice...a little goes a LONG way!
