I found three oak CD racks at Volunteers of America (like Salvation Army) for $5.00 each. They hold my stamps, my punches, wheels---just about everything.
I bought one of those wood racks with a bunch of plastic bins, usually for kids' toys. I have it in the closet of my craft room. It's filled with envies, brayers, petal point ink pads, buttons, drywall tape, sponges, cotton balls, q-tips, etc. It used to hold my punches too, but I recently got one of those clear shoe hangers for behind my door. Love it!

A restaurant style silverware holder to hold my Copics...posted on another thread but in case you missed it, I will post another. Love the "angle" that it sits for good viewing and that the cylinders are removable. For me this is my best storage solution to date.
I also have the spinning utensil holders, one that mainly holds my Prismacolor Pencils and one that has miscellaneous. I have the Making Memories one on my Christmas list because it is bigger and holds more.
I bought a thread storage thing: http://www.joann.com/joann/catalog.j...&source=search
I keep my wheels on it. You can't see them in the picture, but there are tiny dowels that fit in the center part of the wheel. You can put a wheel on every other dowel. I chose to hang mine on the wall, but it has legs so it could be on a counter.
I got a wooden crate style cassette tape holder at a garage sale for $2.00 to hold my ink pads. I use a plastic cookie tray to hold my reinkers (this way I can see the name of each) and this sits in a shallow drawer. I have a pretty crock style pot with a thin drinking glass in it. All my pencils and thin handled tools go into the drinking glass and my scissors and hole punch go into the pot (around the glass). I have a real hard time spending a lot of $ on my storage when I would rather spend it on supplies.

Great ideas. I love the pringles can idea. What a good excuse to buy some snacks! I could kick myself for getting rid of a cassette rack a year or so before I started to stamp... keep the ideas coming!
Thanks!
Amy
I just bought the IKEA kitchen rod thingys for my room. It's suppose to hold my SU & Marvy Leverl punches, stickles & embossing powders, ATG's, gel pens/watercolour pencils/prisma coloured pencils, and my trimmer. It will be great to have everything sorted properly, decorative AND within reach I just have to convince hubby it NEEDS to be up before the end of the weekend. I think individually the most expensive piece cost $2.99.
I use the IKEA antonius system (laundry/closet stuff) for my SU mounted stamp sets. 2 bases, 4 wire pull-out baskets each and I still have room to grow. Plus the top is a worktop so I have my 8.5x11 hanging folder's sitting on top.
One of my absolutely favourite items is an IKEA wood lazy susan ($7) that I put my tool tote on so it spins. I have access to ALL the pockets, and I can quickly just pick the tote up and bring it into the TV room to craft while I watch a movie with dh.
One of those multi drawer things guys use to store screws etc-holds more embellishments including postage stamps (sorted by color group).
I saw a thread a while back where someone had one of those for keeping used sponges and daubers in. There was a drawer for each color with a label on it. I thought that was a really good idea. I've been meaning to do that, but haven't yet;).

I use rain gutters to hold my ribbon. I found the idea here on SCS. It's fantastic!
That is hilarious. My husband does eavestroughing (canadian) /gutter making for a living, and I hadn't even thought of using them to hold ribbon! Looks like I have an endless supply of shelves
I use a tupperware bread box to store my ribbon, I have cardboard cut down to fit across and wrap the ribbon around and use a pin to hold the end of the ribbon in place, all colour coordinated of course.
I have my old spice rack that I keep on my desk for eyelets and misc. embellishments. I just cleaned out the jars and organized my eyelets by colors. I also use a pretty jar for scraps of ribbon.
I used my crop-a-dile to punch 15 holes in my large Stampin' Up ribbon holder and it works great to thread 15 spools of 1/4" ribbon through. No more dangling and mixed up ribbon. I love it.
I have a peg board on my stamping wall, It used to be my dh work area, Then it turned into a junk area. I then took it over for my stamping room.
On my stamping wall I have a old Cassette holder that I have taken out every other slat and use it to store my small wood stamps, small items, Some ribbons,
I also purchase a couple of those Photo Boxes to store my other rolls of ribbon, Stamped cards, Recieved Cards, Swap cards.
I purchased a couple of those Plano Boxes to store my Brads, eyelets, doo dads. & what nots in.
I've saved some Plastic Peanut butter containers for storing my Primascolor pencils
A Metal Pail for storing my Tombow Markers in.
My small Punches I have them in a Plastic pencils box that I found at Wal-mart.
And my large Punches I store in the over head shelve I found in the trash.
This can be see in View 4 on the photo's that I have attached below.
My stamp area is made up from found stuff and some purchased items.
I took a shoe box, taped together some long wooden skewers and threaded them through holes I made in the sides of the shoe box and use that to store my ribbon- keeps the spools in check!
All I have for space is a table and whatever space there is above and below it (so no shelves), so I needed to come up with ways to make sure things didn't fall over! We rent a condo so no drilling into walls either.
On a side note: jeanstamping2, what kind of paper cutter is that????

I have a real hard time spending a lot of $ on my storage when I would rather spend it on supplies.
I also got my Napa Valley wood cassette tape racks at a yard sale... one of them has 100 slots and that houses all my SU ink pads. The other has 36 slots and that holds all my Palette, Brilliance and other inks.
I got a black mesh like thing at the same yard sale. It has 2 deep pull out drawers and sits on my desk. The top drawer holds my adhesives and the bottom all my Prisma, Copic and SU markers.
I use a huge, 3 ring binder to store my Cuttlebug & Sizzix dies. I bought plastic baseball card holders at Walmart and attached Velcro to the tops of every slot. That way the dies don't slip out. I put the smaller dies in there... and the longer dies go into clear plastic cases... almost like pencil cases. They have the 3 holes and go into the same binder, along with the embossing folders... which go into the huge pockets on the front and back of the binder.
Punches are in a small plastic cart that sits under my desk.
My little stuff storage is a tiered shelf organizer. It's expandable, about $10, plastic and is meant to put 'steps' in your spice cabinet so you can see everything on two different levels. If it's out, I use it. If not, like in a drawer, I forget about it.
I really got into the tiered theme and bought school locker shelf expander thingies. It's a plastic shelf that kids can put in their lockers at school (do they still have lockers?--I am old HA) to have a second level. This is great because of my limited table space. Gets stuff up and out of the way....kind of like a push up bra.
Ok. Now I think I am being funny.
At an auction I bought a legal sized, metal 'mail sorter' for a buck! It's the thing you would use in an office mail room for sorting mail. It's 3 feet tall and holds a gob of stuff.
My latest storage treasure is the Pampered Chef turnaround tool storage. It swivels like there's no tomorrow!! Love that thing. Alot.
My favorite storage is an old knitting companion on legs. It's faux wicker, strong and holds the zip locks coordinated by color that I store my ribbon in. I think you would keep your knitting stuff in there while sitting in front of the tv. It's kind of like a small ottoman, but for knitting supplies.
Again, great thread! I got a bunch of ideas here and hope to share mine.

I also use the Antonius for my stamp storage. I love the drawers. I keep my printer on the worktop. I also put the magnets I make on the frame. Our IKEA is opening this spring, so I hope to add on.

Honey, I need something to store all these brads and eyelets in? He goes downstairs and brings up a plastic box w/dividers, a Plano tackle box from Wal Mart that sells for like .97. Cool! Then I was wandering around Lowe's about a year ago and came home with a carrying case (red & black, go Dawgs!) that holds like 5 Plano boxes. Thought I would LOL when I saw the same thing by Plano in designer colors for a lot more money at Archivers.
Honey I need to put all this in EP in something, up comes a bag of clear film cannisters, perfect size!

I saw a thread a while back where someone had one of those for keeping used sponges and daubers in. There was a drawer for each color with a label on it. I thought that was a really good idea. I've been meaning to do that, but haven't yet;).
I think that's me. You can go HERE to view it. I have two colors in each drawer it holds both reinkers, sponge daubers, sponge quarters and cartridges.
I also use the two tier wire wall-mounted racks that I got in the kitchen orgainization section of Home Depot to store my ribbon. It works great and the spools are easy to replace. I like to have all of my stuff out in the open. Go HERE to see them.
The other thing that I do is store all of my EP and glitter in those resealable square Gladware containers. I LOVE IT. EP and glitter still get everywhere, but it's better than it used to be. I hated using those stupid pans or a folded up sheet of paper.
Oh and I use clear arylic CD holders from the Container store to hold my ink pads. You can view it HERE . I cut out heavy chip board "shelves" to slide into every other slot. I can store a color family in one holder so I have 4 stacked together. It works great for me.
I speak the truth not so much as I would, but as much as I dare, .......and I dare a little more as I grow older. -Michel de Montaigne, essayist (1533-1592)
I took some old wooden VCR tape organizer shelves that my dad was going to toss and mounted them on the wall. They are fantastic for ink pads or the large background stamps. Gets them up out of the way, but easy to spot and grab individually. I also store all my cardstock in hanging file folders and put a legal size envelope in front of each color for the scraps. Then when I need something, I always check for a cut piece/scrap first before going into a fresh sheet.
I keep my unmounted stamps in CD cases and I store them in a 2-tier metal slide out tray that I bought at Target in the section where the Rubbermaid type items are. I have (some) of my punches in a hanging shoe tree, and some on shelves I found at Ikea. I have some ribbon on spools in glass jars on my shelves and some also in ziploc bags (color-coded) hanging from childrens clothes hangers with those little metal clips to hold the baggie...those I have hanging in the closet on the pole that goes across the top. I found an old card rack at a junque store and I keep my SU background stamps on that. Wow...u think I may have too many toys?? NAW! lol
I use the black jewelry trays (without the sponge inserts) to hold my individual stamps. They're just the right depth for the stamps and without piling stamps on top of each other, I can now see all my stamps in one swoop. They layer beautifully and fit perfectly in my Elfa drawers.
Thanks ladies for all the wonderful tips. I also use the hanging folder containers for my cardstock, the cassette container for stamp pads and unmounts that I have in clear CD cases.
I have taken my stamps that are on wheels and have unmounted them. I love this as I always had problems with pressure with the wheels and it takes up less space.
To show off my cards, I placed a fishing line against my wall (with tiny nails) and paperclip cards that I want to display with colored paperclips.
I use a bunch of the clear rubber maid drawer units- the little ones hold supplies like pens, tools, and embossing supplies. The big ones hold cardstock, punches and bigger supplies. You can find them in desk top sizes and stand alone seven drawer units. I couldn't manage without them.

I use these drawers to hold all my punches. I have them right under my table at my right hand - easy to reach.
I have a photo of a tin bucket I use to hold envelopes {yes, I have lots of them in various sizes and colors, lol!} on my blog here
Also, if you scroll down, you can see some of my shelves. I have the tool bin that stores embellishments {it's gray}. I have lots of little buckets from the Target dollar spot that hold ribbons, hemp, etc.
I don't know how well you can see them, but I have glass jars from W-mart also holding ribbons that I wrapped on spools from Dollar Tree.
To the far left in the photo, I found tall skinny drawers at W-mart that are made to fit between a washer/dryer and those hold my ink spots, hodge podge kits, stamp a majig, Making Memories paints, etc.
I wish I had an entire room to organize my stuff. I just have the back half of my bedroom -- which makes my husband too curious when I bring in new things.

When we built our house 17+ years ago, my workroom became what was supposed to be the downstairs family room. I live in this room ... but surface for food only when my husband yells down saying he's hungry. Yes, I can just hear it from you gals ... but believe me, knowing him through nearly 30 years of marriage, I don't want him in my kitchen! But I greatly digress ......
For my inkpads and re-inker bottles, I use two bins that guys use for screws, etc. stacked on top of each other. I got them at K-Mart years ago on sale really cheap, so don't know how much they cost now.
Each bin has 8 large drawers and 14 small drawers. Each large drawer holds 3 SU! inkpads and each small drawer holds 3 re-inker bottles perfectly. I made a label for each drawer with name of color and a swatch of cardstock.
The stacked bins sit on my work table against the wall, so are right in front of me within easy reach. The two bins hold all 48 inkpads and re-inkers, and I still have 12 extra of the small drawers for misc. stuff like paper clips, brads, Q-tips, toothpicks, snail adhesive refills, paper cutter blades, etc.
For my cardstock, each color is in a labled hang folder in the bottom drawer of a 2-drawer file cabinet, which fits perfectly under my work table. The top drawer holds hang folders with all my SU! business paperwork, patterns, templates, Stampin' Success magazines and mini catalogs for that year, etc.
For cardstock scraps, I use two 3-drawer Sterlite storage containers stacked on top of each other. The top drawer/neutrals, second drawer/Soft Subtles, third drawer/Bold Brights, fourth drawer/Rich Regals, fifth drawer/Earth Elements. The bottom drawer holds misc. inkpads, blender pens, re-inkers, etc.
I have three 7-drawer rolling carts. One holds all my SU! accessories, the others hold stuff that's extremely essential for a "complete" workroom (ha).
Before I started stamping 16+ years ago, I quilted and made other crafts. There are shelves on one wall of my workroom, which at one time accommodated all things quilt and craft related. Some of that is now gone to make room for glorious stamp stuff.
One shelf holds two 28-quart under-the-bed Sterlite containers. Each container holds three rows of SU! stamp boxes, sitting on end. Each row is 12 stamp boxes. I can flip through the boxes like a file card system. There is a second shelf below with more stamps. As you can well imagin, I hate seeing the SU! Retired List. Several other shelves house wheels, 12" cardstock, powder pal, etc. in appropriate containers.
I have way more in my room than what's already mentioned ... like three 8-foot tables (two are for workshops, one is my work table), sewing machine cabinet, computer desk, TV, stereo, etc. So now you know why I love my room. All I need is a kitchen. Naahhh ... then my husband would want to be down here!
I am so Jealous!! Put some pics on for us all to see!

I use those 97 cent plastic tackle boxes for all my different buttons, 1 with some brads, I use empty baby wipe containers for everything & anything. I went to a rummage and there were 10 of those plastic containers for daily & weekly medications-How handy for just a few leftover brads ect. I have a recipe box and file my unmounted stamps, I also have more recipe boxes 1 I would die without. I have index cards 1 I put all the #'s of my fiskar decorative scissors, then if they are on sale I grab the card and away I go. NO More duplicates for me. I do the same for Stickles and ink-pads anything I can . When I buy Prima's I do the same or with some I glue them on the card. Some of my boxes are the 5x7 ones. I buy every old 3 ring binder at rummage sales or goodwill then when I buy stickers I put them in a binder. anything that has a hole in the top or I can punch one in goes in my binders.
I also use a recipe box and alphabetize all my stamp sets, SU is one area Heidi Grace is another. ect.
My most ingenious is I found a platter and I took and attached empty pill bottles and then attached it to a $1 store lazy susan and I put my pencil ect there are a million uses for it.
Hope I helped some one with a dilemma.
Kathy
