I have my pens stored in a plastic silverware tray but that seems so blah. And everything seems to get jumbled in there without any way for me to organize things. Any good ideas for a better system?
I have two Rubbermaid 3-drawer small storage units which I keep mine in. They are stacked one on top of the other and I keep the different SU! color families separated per drawer. They look similar to this five-drawerunit. (Click on the words "five-drawer" to see image.)
Just know they should be stored horizontally - mine are all jumbled up in Creative Memories flat sided journaling storage containers that hold about 12 pens...maybe 16 - I have them by colors/nib size - lookig forward to the other replies this thread gets for ideas. tia
I store mine in the clamshell boxes the SU stamps come in. It's easy to organize by type of pens, and the cases stack nicely on my bookshelf. I went unmounted so I had lots of these boxes sitting around.

I store all my pens, markers, paint brushes, etc on a peg board I have attached to my wall. I just bought colorful cans from the market and punched holes in them with a cropadile. I only punched a single hole and they occasionally tip (not to the point of spilling though). If I had to do it again, I would punch two holes in the back instead.
If you put the hole(s) in the bottom of your can and attach it to the peg board with a short nut and bolt you could store your pens horizontally. The cans would extend out into the room farther.
I keep mine in something I bought at Michael's....you can also buy them at a hardware store. It is a small unit, 8" x 10", has 4 drawers across with 3 drawers up & down. This is the unit that men typically purchase to put nuts and bolts in. My husband cut the front of the plastic drawers off. That left the rest of the drawer intact in the unit. I have it sitting on my desk (doesn't take up much room) with the pens lying on their side in the drawers.
I color coordinated them....reds, yellows, oranges, etc. Each drawer will hold about 10 pens easily. I can usually tell by looking at the end caps what color it is that I need. After using SU since 1997, I even dream in SU colors.
I have my Prismacolors, Marvys, etc also separated in the drawers. Handy for me.

Hey, new to stamps. What does unmounted mean. I love the designs of the stamps but I like the clear ones because they are so much easier to use. What does unmounted mean.
Here is the one I use. I love it because I can see all the colors of my markers/pens. I have all my Sakura pens in the top and markers on each side. Then glue pens, versamark, etc on the bottom. I love it and want another one. http://www.officemax.com/omax/catalo...uctId=ARS20226
I use the wine rack with cups I found a six bottle rack at Target for $15.00 and the cups at Wal Mart for $3.00 Works great and all my pens are within easy reach.

She is talking about taking the stamps off of the wood and putting ez mount or something like that on the back. They can then used with an acrylic block and storage is much easier. Hope this helps.

I was lucky enough to buy a display at a LSS that was closing that held ZID markers. Its a double display so I have room for all of my markers, colored pencils, pastel pencils and watercolor pencils all within reach. Before that I kept my markers in clear plastic cosmetic bags. They were easy to grab and go and I could see everything easily.
I store mine in my empty punch box tin (from the first one that came out, the tag punch). I do have to sift through to find the right colors but I like that I can always find the box of markers in my messy craft space
I store my unmounted SU stamps in the boxes they came in, but I group so they are all together - los of left over boxes and blocks. Still trying to find a creative outlet for those blocks.
