Default what is a cutterbug?

I have been seeing Cutterbug, Big Shot, templates, folders, what are they, do I need them, how do they work? I just got the cricuit, do I need this stuff too? Is it the same thing? HELP me figure out if I need one.

Cuttlebug and Big Shot are both different kinds of die-cut machines.
The Cuttlebug does embossing, in addition to die cutting, and is compatible with all of the dies from Sizzix, Quickutz, etc. I have one and I love it!

If you check out the Tool and Product message board there is lots of info on there about the differences. I do have the Cuttlebug and love it. The two biggest advantages with the Cuttlebug are you can use other dies in it besides the Cuttlebug ones and you can emboss with it. I wouldn't say it is a have to have ( all though others might disagree ), but you won't regret it if you purchase it.

You can also do a seach in the gallery. Just type in Cuttlebug and you can see all of the great things you can do with it.

I currently own the quickutz hand tool. I love it and it is one of my favorite scrapbooking tools. I'm thinking about buying a one of the new revolution alphabet from quickutz. Does anyone know will it work in a cuttlebug? I don't realy want to buy the quickutz tool....if I can cut and emboss in the bug. Thanks for the help!

I have a Big Shot and it also does die cuts and embossing...I have a product review on my blog if you want to check it out. I also know that JulieHRR has a product comparison between the Cuttlebug and the Big Shot on her blog...(in the archives)

I use the occasional cuttlebug embossing folders with my old stand by red sizzix machine. They are very pretty done.

Did not get the sidekick, the cricut, the cuttlebug machine or the Big Shot.

I simply use my old sizzix machine with the convertor and the sizzix adaptor to use sizzix dies, sizzix embossing folders, sizzlet alphas and designs, my quickutz dies and my bosscut dies. Now I can also use it to cut the cuttlebug folders.

Don't have the space for all those other machines.
