Do any of you crafters have this & what do you think? I'm thinking of getting it to actually fuse some things and to use it for shaker cards. Just wanted to know if it is worth the $$$ ( I plan on using a coupon if I can.)
I have it, and it's wonderful for shaker cards. It does take a little practice, but I got the hang of it pretty quickly.
OMG!. I had high hopes for this tool. But just can't seem to get the fused plastic to actually fuse. I can easily take apart. Any tips??? Looked at many videos, but no luck. TIA
OMG! Ro, HOW are you? It has been forever since we have spoke/chatted! I hope life is treating you well these days!
Thank-you for the input on the fuse! I'm sorry you are having trouble with it. In all honesty your post is the 1st negative comment I have read about it. (I have been reading reviews on different sites for it) Anyways the first thing that came to mind with the trouble you are having is... Are you letting it heat up long enough before trying to fuse? If so maybe you can call the company and see if they have any advice to offer.
Does anybody have any ideas where this can be purchased at a relatively decent price?? I have tried the big box stores so I could use a coupon but they do not carry them in store. (AC Moore & Hobby Lobby) Joanns does carry it on line but there shipping times seem to take forever!
I have not check there, but will. I will check this week-end when I have to go out that ways. Unfortunately, Michael's is the only store that is not near me !
Price is 22.49 + 5.95 ship
BUT...with coupon it is 40% off reg price (which is 29.99) = $17.99 plus 7.95 ship (the ship is based on reg price.) But you still come out ahead using coupon.
I think that is still good.

Yeah Connie, I am. There is a learning curve with this one. I gave it to my father because he likes it. The gadget man.
I got mine in May at Scrapbook Expo as part of a class. Then I forgot about it until an hour ago when I found it in the craft mess and packed it for our move. Maybe I can make a
shaker Christmas cards at the other end when I see my stuff again. I recommend practicing on a spare 12x12 page protector and trying the different edges of the guide.

Scrapbook.com has it on Sale... and they also have the new exchangeable tips and other things on sale too.... I'm really happy with it... the stand that comes with it, is a little flimsy... they have a holster that is part of a mat now.... but I don't like things connected, so I bought another solder one....
Just let it get hot enough and play around with it...
I was in michaels today and decided to look in the project life section. They do carry a fuse tool. Its $29.99 and most times you can get at least a 40% off coupon. Just thought I'd let you all know.

Thank-you for your input, appreciate it.
HSN has it. Free shipping on crafts this weekend.

You and me both. I was so looking forward to it for shaker cards. I got it a few months back, heated it for 10 min, 20, then even an hour. Tried it on varying thickness but no go. It just wouldn't fuse. Wrote to the company...they sent me another one but told me if this one doesn't work they won't send another replacement.
Guess what? It is the same. Either I am doing something very wrong or I have to be the unluckiest person in the world. I had to pay $17 for custom duty so even the replacement cost.
People say if you go too slow you end up burning or poking holes in the plastic....I would be ecstatic if it actually burnt something so I know it works and I am the one doing something wrong.
On the thicker plastic, it doesn't even leave any marks on the second layer. On thin one, all it does is leave marks but doesn't really fuse.
I am so disappointed as I was looking forward to this so very much and waited months for the replacement to arrive.
