Hi! I'm seeking advice here. I have a full set of watercolor crayons. Since I have gotten some Copics, if I do get time to stamp I seem to be ignoring the crayons. I'm considering selling them. Any reason I shouldn't? Any things I can do with the crayons I can't do with Copics? Any things I can do with a combination of the 2 that I couldn't do with just Copics? Any other reasons to keep the crayons?
I would keep the crayons. They will work with different type of stamps than the copics. You can use them direct to rubber on those beautiful penny black watercolor flower stamps. Simply spritz the stamp after you color and it looks so pretty! I don't have any WCC but I would sure like them!
I just ordered 2 sets of the crayons. I can't wait to get them.
I usually work with prisma and OMS but I think watercolor is so soft and just lovely on some images. I like to use them with a blender pen or my brushes.
I also use oil pastels on some and love them too.
So I would say YES keep them :0)

My first thought was that you can color directly on your rubber stamps with the crayons; and of course you can't do that with Copics.
I don't think there is any specific technique or advantage to using both together; but I am new with Copics myself.
For me it seems, using Copics ( or any markers ) gets you a bolder, brighter image. Something that has a very "graphic" quality, like out of a comic book if that makes sense?
The watercolor crayons give you the option of a very soft, see-thru image. Something that looks like you used a canvas, brush, paints and water!
While both are ways to "color-in" a stamped image; to me they are two very different end results and I would keep the crayons.
I'll never get rid of mine, and that's one of the first things I plan to order when the new catalog comes out is the crayons in the new colors. I have markers too, but sometimes I just like the softer look that the crayons give. In fact, I'm planning to order a couple of sets from the SU summer mini that are going to be perfect to use my crayons with.

I love the crayons (I have'em all) and will also be ordering the new colors! You can all laugh at me but I just don't like coloring with Copics. I took one class and wasn't thrilled and didn't buy any. I then took another class thinking that I must love them because everyone else does but still no thrill for me. That means more money for other stuff. YAY!
WOW. You can color... on the stamp... WITH THE CRAYONS?
*thud*
*DOUBLE THUD* Hellloooooo??? I didn't know that either!! I've never used them like that!! And I've had a set of those crayons since FOREVER!!!
You can also use them to color without coloring right on the paper - I pick up color with my brush straight from the crayon. One of my favorites. Of course, I love the watercolor look.
