I want to get a couple of the Pearl Pens but would like to find them in a local store if I can. Does anyone know if retailers carry them and if so, in what dept?
I heard that Hobby Lobby carries some Viva Decor products, but not sure if they carry the Pearl Pens. I've never seen them at JoAnn's or Michael's. So Hobby Lobby might be your best bet if you have one in your area. Hope this helps!
I've been wondering about these pens. Anyone have them? Are they any good? How are they different from Liquid Pearls?
I am absolutely in love with the Viva Decor Pearl and Paint pens! I do not own liquid pearls, but can tell you that the Viva Decor pens work like a dream, they hold their shape, the colors are amazing, and you can do many things with them. The pen allows you to squeeze a very fine line or pearl, or a larger one, and the flow of the pen is so smooth and easy!
Last night I played with the pens and made flourishes on wax paper, let it dry then peeled it off this morning to use on a card, way cool! Also I have used the pens to paint flowers, adds a new level of shimmer to any type of flower, including dollar store silk flowers.
Love how much is in the bottle, the pens are very easy to store, and the product is very high quality.

Just ordered the Pearl (gold and white) pens. Will let you all know my opinion when I try them. They seem fantastic, based on the videos and other people's use.
Also ordered a couple of their Fold 'Em templates. I have Incere templates but not ones like the designs they had. Will give a report on my use of those, too, later.
These pens are awesome. They hold a lot, squeeze evenly, and with practice look like pearls for quite a bit less in cost. I have used them many times and love them. I just ordered the Viva Decor Gel Pens which can be used on glass so I don't know about them yet but will bet they are great, too.
Forgot to add that I found them on the scrapyland.com site. I order lots of items from them when they have their sales which are better than anywhere I have found on line or at Joann's site. Joann does not carry the Viva Decor brand.
I found a website that sells them for $4.79 each ... never ordered from them but they are listed as an exhibitor at a show I'm going to this weekend and I plan to visit their booth:
Forgot to mention I've been to a convention they were at and they have a lot of items online that they didn't have at the show, so if you plan on buying Viva Decor you may want to email them and see if they will have it there or not.
Thanks for the feedback on the company and this helpful hint. Viva Decor pens are only one of many items on my looooong wishlist (I have 1 but haven't used it yet ... maybe today or tomorrow so I can decide how high on my list the pens need to be!)

I too got mine from Susana's, in fact I just ordered some of the new Magic Pearl Pens, and they are really cool! They have an iridescent property to them, and change a bit according to the color of the paper you use. One of the new color choices is translucent. They are so much fun to use, you'll enjoy them....
I fell in love with this product in the last few months. I bought one several months ago and once I tried it I loved it. I LOVE pearls, but applying them is sometimes a hassle. I find the application of the Pearl Pen is so simple. I let them dry overnight. They do remain tacky for a bit, so you shouldn't stack them until you have to ... like if you have to pack them up for a swap or something.
I bought every color they had at Buffalo Stamps and such. I'll have to take a quick inventory to see if I need any more colors. I did have trouble finding them online, but you ladeis have done that work for me!! TFS

I purchased them after reading this thread, and they arrived yesterday. I also got a bottle of the Ranger pearl product. I did test drops and the ranger is MUCH more smooth and circular and pearl-like. Any tips for getting the Viva Decor more rounded?
i LOVE the viva pens and have been using them for about a year and a half now. however i have to agree that the ranger liquid pearls - the NEW formula - is even better. i also really love the gloss gel and glass effect gel pens by viva decor - it's a neat effect, something different because of the gel look and bright colors.
I love Splitcoast, but it costs me a FORTUNE!!!! I would never have known about Stickles, Twinkling H2Os, Outlines stamps, Spica pens, Nellie Snellen punches, Nesties, and on, and on, and on.........
Is there a way to identify the "NEW" formula from the old one? Im afraid some stores may have a stock of old inventory. I would like to be assured Im getting the new ones.
I just bought two of the Viva Decor pens at a Scrapbook Expo, and I compared them to the Liquid Pearls (old formula). I find that the Viva Decor pens actually retain a very rounded dimensional "pearl" when they dry. It almost looks 3-D. For the Liquid Pearls, I also gently tap underneath the paper, and they even out pretty well. For both brands, you do have to practice a little, so that you know how hard to squeeze the bottle/pen and how much you have to squeeze out.

I want to second this observation about the NEW formula. I have a couple of bottles of Liquid Pearls from a year or two ago. They were okay... but it was frustrating how it took a lot of tries to get rounded shapes (and usually I still ended up with stiff, pointy globs that didn't look at all round). The Viva Decor pens are AMAZING in the way they settle into beautiful rounded shapes. The new formula of Liquid Pearls is just like that, too. But the old formula only ever frustrated me.
Here's a link I just found that shows the new packaging,, colours, etc.

Pearl Pens -Viva Decor
Thanks for all of the comparisons! I found the lowest price here: https://www.scrapbookpal.com/online_...cat=Pearl+Pens. I do not know if this is a sale price or not. I did not order any PP, because I only wanted to try one, and the shipping was more than buying only 1 Pearl Pen.
Yeah, Michaels is carrying the Liquid Pearls, and they are packaged in sets of 3. Last week I bought the set of Silver Pearl, Buttercup and Platinum Pearl. The had 2 other combinations (such as a Baby Blue, Pink and White set, but can't recall the other one). However, I was not too impressed (perhaps I didn't squezze enough of a pearl).
I'm wondering if anyone has found/used the new Bead in a Bottle by Tulip. They're actually fabric paints, but they work the same as the Viva Decor pens or Liquid Pearls. I often use my old fabric paints to make pearls on my cards (wouldn't use it on scrapbook pages tho).
I have the Viva Decor pens, Liquid Pearls (not sure if old or new formula) and the Tulip Beading Paint (what can I say? I'm a collector). The Liquid pearls tend to flatten out, beading paint is okay but you get a point and the Viva Decor pens make the best beads imho.
Do you really have to make the pearl, let it dry, and then adhere it to the cardstock (or whatever)? Has anyone tried just placing it directly onto paper? How well does it adhere?
