I use my Xyron machines, glue stick, scant amounts of Allene's Tacky Glue (on large attachments). I have some of the Mono adhesive, but it is rather wet for me.
I haven't tried the mono-multi (it's on my list!), but I swear by the ATG gun! I am pretty **** about figuring out the cost per inch of adhesives and after the initial purchase of the gun, ATG is definitely the best buy for the money. I am also left handed, but had no problem adjusting. They have acid free tape for scrapbooks and regular for cards. Both are fabulous!
(still want to try the mono-multi though!)

I will never use anything but my ATG gun for ever more!!! It seemed I tried everything, but this is the absolute best, holds extremely well, very cheap when compared to Mono and so easy to use. You cannot beat it, the best investment by far I have made since starting stamping and card making. My whole class of students have sinced each purchased their own gun, 2 of them are left handed, on their own, after using my gun just once.
Hands down the best, in my opinion and my class's opinion!
 Ok, I am convinced. Last night after reading this post - I sent DH to the craft store. I tried the MonoMulti, Zip Dry, and the Scotch Quick Dry Tacky. I also had about 15 other tape runners and glue sticks but we won't go into that cuz they all stink!!! The three liquid glues all worked so good I can't decide which one I like the best! Never....I repeat NEVER, will I EVER use a taper runner or glue stick again! I didn't care for the smell of the Scotch or the Zip Dry (only smelled while wet) but both were so easy to handle. I really like the MonoMulti but the bottle I have is small and not comfortable to me. The best value with my purchase was the Scotch at 4.99 for 4 ounces. I throw away a tape runner per week and bet it would take a year to use this bottle. I will probably stick with the Scotch Quick Dry. I can get it locally at the craft stores with a 40% off coupon for only 3.00 and it will last forever! Thanks for this post! I finally got off my duff and got something, or a bunch of somethings that work! Well, I'm off to glue something

You will be happy with the Scotch Quick Dry. I love love love it. That is all I use. You can get a 2 oz bottle at target too. Those are $3.99 but always come with a $1 off coupon for when you buy another one. I love it because it lasts forever and it holds everything. I have glued on metal, paper, ribbon, you name it it holds.

I do. I got a bunch for cheap and that's all I use, mostly. All I can afford! I love most of the glue tape runners I have tried, I just go thru them too quickly...
Hello Ladies...after reading this thread I went to the framing supplies web site and ordered the 714 ATG plus two refills...I make so many cards and the monos are expensive and dont hold very well. Now I cant wait to get my ATG!
I had the same problem with the tombow mono-adhesive. I decided to take the plunge and get the ATG and OMG it's wonderful!!! Takes a little getting used to the size, but it works great and is much, much cheaper than mono-adhesive. Definitely worth the initial investment.
I have been using Tombo Mono Permanent adhesive for 2 years, and I'm really hoping you ladies can suggest something better. I love the convenience of having it in a dispenser that just zips along, but my complaints are...
* Just doesn't stick well enough for me. I don't like to make a batch of cards only to see the layers popping up as I'm putting them away!
* I run out of it way too quickly. I can go through 2 refills in a night of making 8-12 cards for swaps, depending on the layers.
Hi CMC Anne,
Like you, I have had no luck with any stick adhesives (and I've tried many brands including Tombo). In fact I have tried many adhesives, white glue, clear glue (all messy if you aren't very careful) but after attending a class in Bronte, Ont. Canada, I learned about rubber cement. Now I use nothing else. If you can stand the slight odour, there are several advantages. One is that if your glue protrudes around the edges of your card, rubber cement can be cleanly rolled off by just rubbing your finger over the blobs. For a permanent bond, you do have to smear the cement onto your card and then onto the layer you are adding . I have never had any layers ever peel off . Hope this helps. Janey
I personally hate the mono adhesive. I started using Paper Cement (NOT rubber cement) by Bestine (from Michaels on the glue aisle-red metal can near the bottom shelf) a few years ago and that is my main adhesive. I get a little wiggle room, it is easily rubbed off the project if it is visible when dry, very inexpensive (especially with a 40% coupon) and holds forever.
I also like The Ultimate by Crafter's Pick and Quick-Dry Tacky Adhesive by 3M (Target or Michaels).
My old easy-to-use tape standby is double-sided tape by Scotch.
Of course, I have almost every other type of glue and/or adhesive known to crafters, but these are my most reliable.
Here's another vote for Scotch Quick Dry Tacky Adhesive. I run a thin bead of this wonderful glue around the edges and it looks terrific! I love the way I can take a couple of seconds to nudge things into place. When I used tape or dry line adhesive, I was always needing to readjust by pulling the whole piece up. Once the Scotch Quick Dry Tacky Adhesive is dry, it isn't falling apart for anything, which is a problem I had with other adhesives!
